OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Interesting though so many act like Richo is god , and at the same time say Galvin is meh but Richo is the one offering $1m a year for 5 years.
The offer is all media speculation as we know Richo isn't feeding them. We made no offer; once Galvin said he was testing the market Richos said sure but he isn't going anywhere until the end of his contract. 300K per year as a backup is OK until someone comes knocking on the door with a trade that is advantageos to us.

Galvin is now nothing more to us than a pawn in a chess game.

I think Galvin is a talent still developing...is he worth a million a year ,not in my books, however this is the NRL where player managers rule the roost and loyalty is a far second .It's a short career and you make the best of it you can, either being a great player or making money ..you can do both but many fall by the wayside...

Originally if you told me Galvin was leaving I’d be distraught, I still am slightly if I’m being perfectly honest but not at the level I thought I would be.

I think Lachlan has showed his true colours and ever since he requested a release last year I’ve been really vocal that I think he’s gone. But it’s not the fact he’s gone, it’s more so how it has been handled which has been incredibly disrespectful to all of the fans, players, coaches and club itself.

Benji gave this kid his debut fresh out of high school after all the noise and expectation was our boom signing Latu that he was going to get the nod.

Benji saw something in him others didn’t, not one of the other 16 clubs would’ve given him his debut last year, then after 2-3 games of losing he publicly comes out demanding a release…..After conversations with Galvin, he retracts the release and confirms he’ll be staying at the club.

Benji then gives him the keys, partners him up with NSW and international representative in Jarome Luai coming off winning 4 straight rings as the right hand man to Cleary. He also brings in arguably a top 3 prop in the NRL with Terrell May along with the platform we already have.

To add to this, Benji vocally promotes Lachlan to play his natural game and take the line on giving him the freedom to play eyes up football, whilst other coaches would limit and try restrict that and all of a sudden we’re winning games and currently holding a top 8 position with his football flourishing getting all the praise. But that’s not good enough for him apparently.

If you told any young 6 who likes to take the game on and play off the cuff, that they’ll be getting mentored by Benji they’d be over the moon, but to 19 year old Galvin it’s not good enough.

He’s laying the platform to give this kid the key to castle and he disrespects him and claims the reason he’s leaving is purely because of…. Benji?

The team identity is strong, I’m at the mindset of getting this entitled kid the boot and let him root in reserve grade until 2027. Give Latu the 6 jersey and see what we can do, he can have a front row seat to what we’re building.

In Richo and Benji we trust.
Every single word of this

Sounds like Romey & Benji are incredibly tight.
Surely they've discussed halves pairing in the past, for the future.

Romey won't be upset, working with Latu, from what we've heard.

Bulldogs, still doesn't make sense.
They move Burton?
Or play Galvin at 7?

That's not quite the dynamic halves pairing.
Both more so, running players, not organisational halves.

Move Burton to centre?
Idk...
Seems all very odd.
I wouldn’t be breaking up the Dogs centre pair, I’m with you Galvin doesn’t fit in at the dogs,
Burtons kicking game is a big part of their game plan.

If Galvin starts to drop in form or creates drama you just drop him. This isn't a crisis, or a mess, a player has just decided to go for more money elsewhere...all good, let's get back to footy.
It is a mess if his team has blamed his coach for them not even bothering to look at our offer, let alone consider it.
It is painfully obvious that many players have bought in to what’s happening at the club. Compare the current intake of talent compared to the last lot. All of them are giving it everything….except Galvin.
He has not been good this year. He is only playing for himself. Our attack is clunky as shit because he is not playing with a team based focus. At least one of his team mates has publicly gone against him (bravo Pole). There will be more to come. That’s the mess moving forward.
The one thing I don't think we can do is release him. His whole intent will be to get another club next year to earn big dollars. If we let him go, we continue to show we're a pushover club who isn't serious.
100%.
He must stay here until the end of 26.
For starters, he is costing us nothing.
Additionally, he can offer something as long as he is not in the halves.

I think all parties are at fault and the RLPA at most fault .
Bring back June 30 deadline and we will see less of this shit and less of these stupid long term contracts

Tigers at fault here aswell , he has almost 2 full seasons on his contract left and they are putting together a contract for after , if he says no like he has done everyone is now in a no win situation with animosity.

Interesting though so many act like Richo is god , and at the same time say Galvin is meh but Richo is the one offering $1m a year for 5 years.
The way I see it, similar to Stef, Richo offered a better than fair contract to call their bluff and bring everything to a head quickly. Anyone who wants to stay or thinking about staying will stay for that sort of money. Galvin already signaled he was leaving regardless with 3+ release requests.

It’s the least bad outcome of which we now have some control over.

Yeah well it shouldn’t be a shock really. He has said all along he wants out..allegedly even in a dressing room full of club people, guests and media.

Yes the more you think about it, the more it has to be Manly.
Those poor bastards are going to have a halves pairing of Brooks and Galvin 🤣🤣🤣

I thought the dressing room rumour was squashed officially but was raised again by Reed on NRL 360 tonight.

Yeah, I'll say it again, I'm confused by it all and how he thinks he'll have a better career elsewhere. After we've literally done everything we can to accommodate him.

I think Eels the #1 destination, strangely enough... for, money? Success? He has it all on the table with us, but thinks that's the better option. Unbelievable.

Manly, the same.... Turbo on the edge of retirement, no DCE to mentor him, dud coach. They have their positives no doubt, but not any more so than us.

The NRL fans, not just our individual fan base is not forgiving and staunch. There was a most hated people of Australia poll back in the day by Zoo magazine or one of those cringe magazines and the winner was Sonny Bill after his bulldogs betrayal, beating the Bali bombers who were second. Galvin will be hated by many across the game, probably not the club he signs withs fan base though.
lol Sonny bill just left a horrendous dogs culture , of cap cheating , wife cheating , cheating the police with half truths in Coffs Harbour . He didn’t want a bar of it .
Got Mundines manager (say what you want about Mundine , actual day to day morals , that don’t involve a camera , the guy is pretty stand up . Especially for his community) became a devout Muslim , and went on to have a historic career in sports .
I mean…. When you know the whole story it’s hard to look at that and not see a situation of “whatever you walk past you condone “ .
But this is different . It’s seen as a betrayal . Like when Michael found out it was Freddy . “I know it was you Freddy” .
You’re right …. He won’t be able to escape it I don’t think.

I could be absolutely seeing things here but this is from WWOS tonight. And the dressing sheds are from newcastle so this weekwatch the interaction at the 55 second mark between Galvin and TDS. Looks like TDS gives him the cold shoulder. And Galvin kicks stones

Makes sense if the playing squad knew before the game. Good pick up.
I didn't see him signing the team song against Newcastle but that may have just been him not being in shot?

I don’t like commenting on this, but I know some people who know some people and earlier in the year Lachie was genuinely happy about the club and its direction.
My word is that it’s changed recently, and maybe it has something to do with the click of Luai, May, Turuva etc and their relationship with Benji.
He was coached by Luke Vella at Westfields and my guess is he’ll end up at Bulldogs where Vella is assistant now. It’s sad because I think he’s a young kid with a lot of ambition, who’s potentially misreading some situations. He was given the keys last year and told to play, now he’s being reigned in by Luai and others and he’s not liking it.
The word is also that Benji is a great coach, as is Hodgo. Haven’t heard specifically about Morris but he’s apparently a great guy.

Genuinely not trying to sound like a big shot. Just have some connections that know a little more about what’s going on.

It’s an unfortunate situation that hasn’t been handled well - Benji has been treated terribly and the club including players aren’t happy. Expect Richo to get a big pound of flesh from someone for him.

It’s all over now. Who gives shit about the he said she said stuff.

Kid can play but lacks speed at best imo he becomes a 13. He ain’t no filter, filter had strength and pace. Haven’t seen Galvin break a tackle. I said earlier he reminded me of Fulton but after watching Galvin this season I think Fulton was faster.

The one thing I truely like about Galvin is his tenacity and desire to get to the play. I wish Bula had a bit of that.
