OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I don’t like commenting on this, but I know some people who know some people and earlier in the year Lachie was genuinely happy about the club and its direction.
My word is that it’s changed recently, and maybe it has something to do with the click of Luai, May, Turuva etc and their relationship with Benji.
He was coached by Luke Vella at Westfields and my guess is he’ll end up there. It’s sad because I think he’s a young kid with a lot of ambition, who’s potentially misreading some situations. He was given the keys last year and told to play, now he’s being reigned in by Luai and others and he’s not liking it.
The word is also that Benji is a great coach, as is Hodgo. Haven’t heard specifically about Morris but he’s apparently a great guy.
The proof is in the pudding . He’s far more focused on his highlight reel than winning footy games . And that’s been apparent for a while now . When luai plays we win . I’d be shutting the f up , and realising .
I once coached u7s and i started to teach the kids how to offload and pass the ball . Nothing major . Just how to use their teammates in space during a game . Mainly because the guys are just giving it to 2 or 3 kids all game , they were demanding it to be honest , and most kids weren’t getting a real go . The idea was when you pass the ball to each other you score together and tries become your tries as you scored it together . Not “my” try.
The kids loved it . A lot of laughing and giggling during games . They dropped the ball a bit . Meh! They were having a lot of fun . And we were winning .
After a couple of games one of the dad of the kid who scored all the tries comes up to me , I think we lost a game for once , and he’s pissed off asking why I teach the kids offloading and playing footy . I tell him , it’s more fun , it looks amazing , and every time score there’s 3 or 4 kids running behind him scoring the try with them .
He says . You give the ball to my son , we score every time . We win . Thats the gameplan . I laughed at him and walked away . I’m reminded of this , whenever people around me talk about stage parents.

Sounds like Romey & Benji are incredibly tight.
Surely they've discussed halves pairing in the past, for the future.

Romey won't be upset, working with Latu, from what we've heard.

Bulldogs, still doesn't make sense.
They move Burton?
Or play Galvin at 7?

That's not quite the dynamic halves pairing.
Both more so, running players, not organisational halves.

Move Burton to centre?
Idk...
Seems all very odd.
Gus gets him over the line imo. Hes cold and would have no issues binning burton or sexton. Galvin would also fit the effort player mould Ciraldo looks for.

Gus has been talking up Galvin a lot. Why? Perhaps to take pressure off luai a player he likes. Or perhaps to get other clubs to overpay

If they want Galvin early, request Critta and he can come and play with his homies at the Tiges. Or, we say we want Burton.

Burton can swap with Douhei between centre and 5/8.

Who is managing Makasini? Better not be that prick Moses.

Nah he wasn’t there . I had a good look like 5 times .
I actually think the Benji attack criticism in the presser was aimed at Lachlan as well . Because luai was smiling when he said it .
I think your clutching there, I just watched it

The way Benji and Luai spoke about the spine, there was no suggestion there was an issue with Galvin or that he wasn't our future. Maybe Richo kept everything from Benji until after the game?

Watch when he talks about the attack . He says the attack was average . And luai giggles . It seemed like an in joke to me .

I think all parties are at fault and the RLPA at most fault .
Bring back June 30 deadline and we will see less of this shit and less of these stupid long term contracts

Tigers at fault here aswell , he has almost 2 full seasons on his contract left and they are putting together a contract for after , if he says no like he has done everyone is now in a no win situation with animosity.

Interesting though so many act like Richo is god , and at the same time say Galvin is meh but Richo is the one offering $1m a year for 5 years.

So it’s come out we offered him $6m.
5 years plus upgrades to this and next season.
The manager and Galvin’s dad wouldn’t return calls or messages, they also said don’t come back with another offer as Galvin won’t sign.

This isn’t on Richo, it fully on Galvin cohort.

Add in Galvin 3 release requests last season.

Galvin is in for a very rude shock for what will come next I feel.

I personally don’t see how they can play him now. In an ideal world we have Latu, but Galvin may be more detrimental in the team with everyone against him than having him out of the team.

I agree and the only people he should blame is himself and the people giving him crazy advice(I assume Moses and his own father). The sooner this prima donna is out of our club the better for the club and team but it has to be to our benefit not his.

Well we have been moving players on and freeing up space and dollars. For not a lot more then we were going to pay Galvin (and in some cases, less) we can make a play for :/

Jerome Hughes
DCE
Staggs
Joey Manu
Haas

And ant the same time, extend Douehi who loves the club and covers multiple positions .

This isn't 2018. (or 2000 for those who remember McCracken's hummer).

Just because we have a war chest doesn't mean we need to go out and blow it right away. Centre and a Backrower would be great but only at the right price and we don't need to be making offers to dud veterans anymore.

We're a development club. Richo will always be looking to lock up talented juniors in the medium over the big marquee signings. Also it's ALWAYS better to have wiggle room in the cap for when clubs are looking to offload players. The best signing we've made in a decade (may) almost happened by mistake, imagine if our cap was already maxxed out.

We need depth and balance more than star signings.

Hmm, yes. I mentioned in another thread that I think his parents have good intentions but they are seriously out of their depth here. They’ve now allowed their son to be used as leverage for the tigers to cash in. He could be thrown in to reserve grade then distressed sold to a club who are desperate and offload a star to us.

why is it always with us that we cannot handle players properly?

Do we just hire crap humans like Aloiai, Matto, Mitch, Bateman etc or we turn them into shit people, or that we just don't know how to manage players?

This is going to be discussed ad nauseam all week, just when I was getting my hopes up of actually having our team in the Top 8.

Just over always having stupid drama at this club.
I reckon the Tigers, even by the local juniors has always been seen as second tier club as such.

This was announced because we won. It clearly was a NO before the game. Galvin can now fight it out or play regs for 2 years.
