OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I personally don’t see how they can play him now. In an ideal world we have Latu, but Galvin may be more detrimental in the team with everyone against him than having him out of the team.

I agree and the only people he should blame is himself and the people giving him crazy advice(I assume Moses and his own father). The sooner this prima donna is out of our club the better for the club and team but it has to be to our benefit not his.

Hmm, yes. I mentioned in another thread that I think his parents have good intentions but they are seriously out of their depth here. They’ve now allowed their son to be used as leverage for the tigers to cash in. He could be thrown in to reserve grade then distressed sold to a club who are desperate and offload a star to us.

why is it always with us that we cannot handle players properly?

Do we just hire crap humans like Aloiai, Matto, Mitch, Bateman etc or we turn them into shit people, or that we just don't know how to manage players?

This is going to be discussed ad nauseam all week, just when I was getting my hopes up of actually having our team in the Top 8.

Just over always having stupid drama at this club.
I reckon the Tigers, even by the local juniors has always been seen as second tier club as such.

I think your clutching there, I just watched it

The way Benji and Luai spoke about the spine, there was no suggestion there was an issue with Galvin or that he wasn't our future. Maybe Richo kept everything from Benji until after the game?
This was announced because we won. It clearly was a NO before the game. Galvin can now fight it out or play regs for 2 years.

If you pay close attention to his body language against the knights it’s not good. He doesn’t get much engagement from teammates, and he blames them when he makes mistakes.

All irrelevant now, but it sheds some light on why Richo pulled the pin.

It was telling when he made an error in 2nd half and Luai went to talk to him and he just walked past dismissive of Luai.

Galvin is so up himself. He is going to be very toxic at whatever club he moves to. Kid wants total control of everything without earning the right to it.

I saw that too. Hopefully for his own sake he snaps out of it cause he’s very talented, but he won’t be doing it at the tigers.

The proof is in the pudding . He’s far more focused on his highlight reel than winning footy games . And that’s been apparent for a while now . When luai plays we win . I’d be shutting the f up , and realising .
I once coached u7s and i started to teach the kids how to offload and pass the ball . Nothing major . Just how to use their teammates in space during a game . Mainly because the guys are just giving it to 2 or 3 kids all game , they were demanding it to be honest , and most kids weren’t getting a real go . The idea was when you pass the ball to each other you score together and tries become your tries as you scored it together . Not “my” try.
The kids loved it . A lot of laughing and giggling during games . They dropped the ball a bit . Meh! They were having a lot of fun . And we were winning .
After a couple of games one of the dad of the kid who scored all the tries comes up to me , I think we lost a game for once , and he’s pissed off asking why I teach the kids offloading and playing footy . I tell him , it’s more fun , it looks amazing , and every time score there’s 3 or 4 kids running behind him scoring the try with them .
He says . You give the ball to my son , we score every time . We win . Thats the gameplan . I laughed at him and walked away . I’m reminded of this , whenever people around me talk about stage parents.
There is no I in team, but there is in Galvin.

It’s crazy cause Luai has been so accomodating for Galvin. He’s actually taken more of a backseat. Galvin has no idea how good he has it.

Everyone talking Manly & Bulldogs.

There is a team in Sydney with an underperforming #7 in a highly sought after area to live, with a respected coach & ambitions of playing finals every year.

Nobody seems to think of the Shire when you talk about player movement.

Tieg Wilton? Jesse Ramien? Think we could find a spot for both.

I thought the dressing room rumour was squashed officially but was raised again by Reed on NRL 360 tonight.
Well whether it occurred or not, there has been smoke about ever since the mainstream fans first knew of this kid’s name.
He has come up watching this club be the most incompetent and embarrassing in professional sport - any code - in this nation.
Then you see someone well past his prime announced as coach, after he orchestrated the sacking of the previous one, with the caveat that he teach a complete novice to be his replacement in the next 2 years. That coach then gets prematurely sacked himself leaving the novice standing alone, cock in hand with the wind blowing straight back at him.

…and people are surprised his team are telling him to get out?

600 odd on the forum lateish on a Monday night, so Galvin has pissed off plenty of us.

I must admit i am very annoyed with the shit,it is not the fact that he wants to leave that upsets me it is the manner in which this cretin has done it.The only person that has ever annoyed me as much as this was a certain gutless piece of filth called Moses.
I am fine with players leaving our club to go elsewhere but everything is in the way you approach it.He has failed the level of morality i expect consistently from any player.

Romey and Api have little say in this. A coach can’t cede authority to any player. And Benji already has shown as much that he won’t. As soon as he does, his position is weakened.

Benji needs to cut the cord, and cut it swiftly. Richo will be on the phones to Gus or Bonasera and see if they want to Lachie now in a trade for Preston or Olakau’atu.
What ? lol that’s not true at all . 💯 he’d get the lay of the land in the playing group . Which means hitting up the captains .

I don’t like commenting on this, but I know some people who know some people and earlier in the year Lachie was genuinely happy about the club and its direction.
My word is that it’s changed recently, and maybe it has something to do with the click of Luai, May, Turuva etc and their relationship with Benji.
He was coached by Luke Vella at Westfields and my guess is he’ll end up at Bulldogs where Vella is assistant now. It’s sad because I think he’s a young kid with a lot of ambition, who’s potentially misreading some situations. He was given the keys last year and told to play, now he’s being reigned in by Luai and others and he’s not liking it.
The word is also that Benji is a great coach, as is Hodgo. Haven’t heard specifically about Morris but he’s apparently a great guy.

Genuinely not trying to sound like a big shot. Just have some connections that know a little more about what’s going on.

It’s an unfortunate situation that hasn’t been handled well - Benji has been treated terribly and the club including players aren’t happy. Expect Richo to get a big pound of flesh from someone for him.
There was a vid after the dolphins game where they all went to eat...just the poly boys......somethingnin it struck me as odd tho

The 4 teams being named are;

Manly - like you said, Turbo is always injured and no DCE... he's in the deep end there.

Eels - bad to worse. As if their coach is any better than ours. It makes sense tho... he's a junior and childhood fan. Moses as the 7, etc. Yuck though.

Roosters - to partner with who? Sam walker? Can't see it. They can't have Galvin & DcE you would think. Good coach tho.

Dogs - to what. Take Burton's place? Burton is the man at the dogs. Maybe to play 7 but that's a weird pairing, they're similar really. Good coach.

It all makes no sense.
What more can ya do for this kid?
He's done himself no favours.
What about Raiders? Could partner Strange or Sanders in the halves? Sticky’s a good coach and the whole team is on the up. A Galvin could certainly add to their side.
