OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin should play NRL until Latu is fit and ready to return.
Once Latu is fit and ready to return then Galvin should be dropped
to reserve grade until his time is up at The Wests Tigers.
For sure.
When this happens, the world will see that we only used him to serve our needs till the club halfback returns from injury . . . and we don't seem petty by dropping him from the team immediately.
A win win for us, with a little twisting of the knife for the vindictive among us.

Is it in the rules, to ask a club to give us money so they can have him now, bit like the transfer system in European soccer?
What good is money unless it's enough to subsidise the upgrades to both Leichhardt and Campbelltown? Neymar's transfer fee when he moved to PSG was 200 million pounds. We should set Galvin's fee accordingly.

Honestly, we need a player in return, specifically a representative player in a position of need.

If Galvin's relationship with the playing group is untenable, banishing him to Ron Massey Cup won't hurt our salary cap or impact morale. We hold the cards this time.

It's a business until it's made public that you think your coach is sh1t...

They brought this on themselves.

They did it on purpose.
It’s a clear attempt to push the club to allow Galvin to leave early. It’s normal Moses tactics.

I just hope we don’t fall for it and enforce him staying here in Reggies until get something significant in return or he sees out the length.

Imagine how the training hitouts will be against him and if we win and keep that momentum running how hard that will hit his ego. It would be massive.

OK mtd#2 I'll call it early. You are going to be correct and I'm going to be wrong in my opinion that Galvin was certain to be selected in the top side today. So, fair play to you. My reason for thinking he'd be selected was that we were in front in the PR game after our media release yesterday and wouldn't want the media to turn on us by seeming to be churlish by not picking him. I totally underestimated the possibility that senior players would basically say they don't want to play with the kid. I'm really pleased the players have stepped up as they have.
Is that enough humble pie?
Very humble, well rounded , team first mentality civnty,,, have you ever played 5/8 ahd are you free on Monday ??? 🤣😃

I've bashed this club plenty of times but we've done nothing wrong here.

Earlier, I felt Galvin hasn't done anything wrong either as it is hard for him to commit 5 years to us. That's fair.

But now, reading into the whole "don't give us an offer" BS, don't like Benji etc coming out, I have no doubt he will be "agitating" for a release.

If Galvin wants to save face, he needs to come out saying I have full faith in this club and I am committed here for the next 2 years.

That wouldn't be too hard to do... Lie if you have to but needs to say that.

The rumours, articles etc will keep coming.

DCE situation was handled very poorly by the club but DCE came out strongly and shut it all down. The articles were written for a week or so and now they're gone.

We also need to "show" full faith about Galvin to the rest of the comp. We need to show to the comp that we won't treat him badly, just because he's leaving. More importantly, any club that wants him for 2026 would have to pay us million+ dollars to release him.

If we show that, we want him gone, we don't get anything to play with. Just like Bateman, we are probably carrying a little bit of his salary because every club knew we want to get rid of him.

I hope neither party takes dog shots/potshots. Anything anti Tigers or anti Galvin comes in the media, the other party just needs to shut it down.

This can derail our season, the club has made the right decision but needs to manage the next few months properly.

I realise not everyone on here has been a supporter of Benji and he is only a couple of losses away from copping it again but kind of feel gutted for him ATM - after backing Galvin.

To have him publically made the reason why Galvin wanted out is a low blow and who ever decided to go down that path is lowlife piece sh*/t.
Benji is held in high regard in NRL circles whether he makes it as a coach or not, and the Galvins may look back at this action one day and realise that they will be remembered for that before Lachy achieved anything.
Yep lay down with dogs you get fleas.

Sucks to be him

I don’t think it matters if you think Benji is a good coach or not.

It is completely unacceptable and disgusting for a 19 year old rookie to trash his coach publicly, regardless of sport or even career.

I’m not sure how he does that given he’s basically said he doesn’t think the coach is good enough.

Why is Moses a controversial figure?

Moses was one of the agents banned for six months for his role in the Melbourne Storm salary cap scandal. He was then deregistered for breaching his obligations as an agent in 2017, in relation to an investigation the NRL conducted into the Parramatta Eels. Banned for the latter incident in 2021, he was allowed to return to the game 18 months later.

In clubland, Moses is a controversial figure. Some clubs – such as the Roosters – refuse to deal with him whatsoever. At others, he is accused of manipulating rosters by funnelling clients to teams where he also manages the coach.

The NRL has previously indicated it may end the practice of allowing managers to have players and coaches on their books to avoid potential conflicts of interest, but no changes have been made.

You start to relook at things in hindsight but the team song after the newcastle game, hes pretty quiet off to the side...i love seeing the guys lose their sh!t in the team song.
Was at Newcastle, he held back after the game too with fans. Very stand offish, could tell he didn't want the attention. Was out of character for him.

Makes sense now

A lot of us have been critical at times but we’ve had 6 games do far and we’ve won 3, lost another two on penalty goals and were competitive in the other. As you say, Benji is a respected figure in the game and for a team that’s collected three wooden spoons in a row we’ve looked much improved this year. Galvin’s hissy fit seems premature and unreasonable. He and his entourage seem to think he’s DCE who ironically is handling his departure with infinitely more dignity and respect.
