I agree with you.
But the two aren't mutually exclusive. Just because we live in a more flexible and modern working world, there still remains and will always remain, a place for loyalty.
There are still examples all across the league, to this day, of players staying loyal to their incumbent club, in, and for, a variety of contexts.
One's junior and debuting club, especially where there is a clear pathway for you (as with Tallyn) is as good a reason as any to expect loyalty.
I like the concept of player loyalty.
Whilst I understand it's nowhere near as common or practical as it used to be, it still exists and that is thanks in large part, to those in the game who still continue to encourage loyalty as a personal and/or cultural quality, particularly as it pertains to footy.
... Even if it's not common any more.
