OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Going to put a positive on this. Galvin gone, pretty sure most of the playing group and coaches happy. Fainu is a very handy replacement, probably could have been in front of Galvin given circumstances. We no longer have this issue around our necks. Less dealing with agent grub Moses and Galvins mad family. I am hoping JL to 6, Fainu to 7. Additionally if they move players around at the dogs to fit in Galvin and dogs go off the boil, watch the kennel turn on him. Pressure now off tigers and all on Galvin.
PS- this is the last time I mention this whinger.

Fainu isn't just a handy replacement, he is a better player and all the players think this way. The Tigers playing group rate Latu a lot more than they rate Galvin. He just can't get fit unfortunately

Now instead of everyone being pissed at Galvin and manager should be pissed at NRL and bulldogs.

This will always happen to clubs like tigers , because they allow people with ties to clubs to be in media and control the narrative
Galvin leaving had nothing to do with Gould.

Gould may have been interested when he got a whiff Galvin was agitating, but the Galvins have been trying to get out of this contract since early last year before Gould had said a word.

The truth is Galvin, does not fit in and he does not want to be part of a rebuilding club. He wants to play finals every year. It's the manager that gauges interest around the league and it seems he's been doing that for the better part of a year.

Amazing how quickly he was able to find a club and do a deal when other players take weeks and months to finalise the finer details of contracts.

Gus is the best at sitting back, waiting for all the offers to come in and quietly saying to the manager.... we'll match that if he prefers to come over to us...if there's interest let's talk. He always swoops in last minute. He would have just matched the Parra deal that had been sitting on Isaac Moses' desk since last season.

“We still haven’t closed off on a deal yet, and there are still some things that have got to be worked out with the West Tigers,” Gould said.

“I would hope that in the next 48 hours we have far greater clarity. But Lachlan, to his credit, has come out and said his preference was the Bulldogs, so we’ll try and accommodate that.”

The rubbish that comes out of Gould mouth is incredible
What Gus understands is that Galving wants to sign with the dogs…

Mate have you not seen how Gus has been talking him up since he debuted? in fact when the news of us preparing a contract to present to Galvin he went & said that it’s probably in Galvins best interest to wait till November 1. How isn’t that manipulating the market?

Gus a family friend of the galvins
😉😉

Another Gus masterpiece. “Repaired” his relationship with Isaac Moses last year. Hired Galvin’s high school coach as an assistant first grade coach at the dogs this year. Courted Galvin through the media for the last 12 months. Signed Galvin for $300k per year less than we offered (does anyone believe this? When has an Isaac Moses managed player accepted unders?).

I actually don’t hate that we have lost Galvin as I thought the wraps far exceeded what I saw him deliver and I am glad we have not tied $1.05m per year up in him if the media reports are to be believed.

But I hate the process as to how we lost him with Gus playing us, and the whole NRL, for fools and Isaac being the scum that he normally is.

I have always been on the Latu bandwagon over Galvin so I’m not that upset, but I am starting to get nervous about Latu’s ongoing injury issues.

Be interesting to see if he improves in a new environment

He's been playing like a spud all year
Clearly his heart hasn't been in it
Good riddance.

See if he improves elsewhere.
Yeah but You can bet your balls on it that Voss and the commentary team will call him as a better player in a dogs jersey ... regardless .. no credit given to the tigers development.
round 22 is a must win

Whats Kurt Manns deal?
Ive always like him...would bolster our pack
He's a goer ay.

On contract this year and 2026
He's been outstanding for them

Like him at 13

Funny how these guys left because they thought their pathways were blocked. With the injury concerns around Latu there is probably no clearer pathway to a halves role in the NRL at the moment. Noting they are a couple of years away.
We probably need to add a half because If Latu or Luai go down, we don't really have much to replace them with Galvin and Sullivan gone.

I know the Reynolds thing is polarising, but for 2 seasons while Latu can string some full games together and add some maturity, I don't think it's a bad thing. Latu will get games through injuries and it gives us strong depth if Luai or Reynolds go down. Once the old boys contract is up, he will be 21...still very young, but with 40 or 50 games experience under his belt.

I don't think we can rely on 18 year olds and KOE cup nobodies to be our halves depth. Fans can't stomach the depth we have under Seyfarth and our props, yet are willing to stomach it in the halves? I think we're asking for trouble if we don't resolve that issue.
