OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Be interesting to see if he improves in a new environment

He's been playing like a spud all year
Clearly his heart hasn't been in it
Good riddance.

See if he improves elsewhere.
Yeah but You can bet your balls on it that Voss and the commentary team will call him as a better player in a dogs jersey ... regardless .. no credit given to the tigers development.
round 22 is a must win

Whats Kurt Manns deal?
Ive always like him...would bolster our pack
He's a goer ay.

On contract this year and 2026
He's been outstanding for them

Like him at 13

Funny how these guys left because they thought their pathways were blocked. With the injury concerns around Latu there is probably no clearer pathway to a halves role in the NRL at the moment. Noting they are a couple of years away.
We probably need to add a half because If Latu or Luai go down, we don't really have much to replace them with Galvin and Sullivan gone.

I know the Reynolds thing is polarising, but for 2 seasons while Latu can string some full games together and add some maturity, I don't think it's a bad thing. Latu will get games through injuries and it gives us strong depth if Luai or Reynolds go down. Once the old boys contract is up, he will be 21...still very young, but with 40 or 50 games experience under his belt.

I don't think we can rely on 18 year olds and KOE cup nobodies to be our halves depth. Fans can't stomach the depth we have under Seyfarth and our props, yet are willing to stomach it in the halves? I think we're asking for trouble if we don't resolve that issue.

So its official Galvin has agreed to terms 3 1/2 year deal with the Dogs
So I assume Wests Tigers have agreed to release the brat so my Question is
What the hell do we get out of it ?
Maybe better playing group harmony ?
Maybe a pittance of a transfer fee
Not sure but could disrupt the Dogs ,They are on top of the comp and can see a decline in their season ahead
If I was Richo I would want a clause that he can't play against us this year
Same old same old Wests Tigers screwed again
Gus is a fat Hypocrite

Gould is not allowed to poach contracted players as GM of the Doggies but a as journalist he is able to publicly "approach" any player he wants by commenting on what they might be paid, where they might play, when they should sign a contract, and how they could become the highest earning player in history. Moses is not allowed to encourage his players to breach contracts but if they are allegedly bullied or suffer from mental health issues then everything becomes conveniently negotiable. We all know the NRL will never grow a set so let's just make "different rules for different clubs" their catchphrase and stop pretending.

Is there any chance we get a player out of this like a Curran, xerri or Tracey?
I reckon we have Buckley's to none. Unless we want Sexton...hard no on that one.

Anyone who wants to leave their club will be working in the background right now...we will see more movement for sure.

The biggest issue is there isn't much depth in the competition like in previous years. It's not obvious to me who you could target that is NRL standard, but not getting a run in firsts. Skelton was a good pickup for us in that mould, but aside from juniors that have no experience, there is not much out there that would move the dial for us.

Thinking Sexton to Raiders, Mahoney to NQ.

Wonder what Gus is alluding to saying there's things to work out at the Tigers.

Player swap talks have gone cold.

Surely it's the transfer fee? Perhaps a clause saying he can't play against us? Can't think of much else...maybe just a throwaway line alluding to the back and forth nature of the paperwork.

Honestly, even if we didn't get the transfer fee, it wouldn't make a difference to our season. For us it's about filling roster spots before June 30. I think with Galvin gone, we sit at 25/30? Is that right or is it 26/30?

Either way, 4 or 5 players missing from your top 30 is a lot of depth you can't pick from.

Gus is a snake, who knows what he's talking about.

Think they said 3 spots for this year.

Taylan May
Tyrone May
Krystian Mapapalangi [Upgrade]

Then bring in KPP & Harrison Hassett next year and some more depth added.

It's more about the power he has to manipulate the system that no other GM has as a claimed Rugby League guru in a media position.
Some of the outrageous stuff he said about Galvin was laughable and was a blatant selling job on behalf of his club to a contracted player.
Also because of his job he can say stuff and get away with it

Imagine politis or whoever is in charge at Parra saying to the media

“Its untenable for Galvin and he should leave tigers immediately”

Or if Richo says the same thing

Tigers should sue channel 9 after his comment that he should leave Tigers immediately as position untenable .

Essentially inducing him to cut his contract to join them in the end on national TV

I wrote in a post (couple of weeks ago? Dunno - I'm old...I'll see if I can find it) that Gould is the epitome of Machiavellian and very cunning with what he puts out there.

Says dogs are not interested in Galvin, simultaneously calling him the best teenager he's ever seen - despite being at Penrith when Fittler was first there for God's sake.

* Actually, was Gould at the roosters when Fittler moved?

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is a classic misdirection and Galvin ends up at the dogs.

And any talk of fitting him into their cap is moot imo; we've all seen in recent years their ability to offload players in bulk to accommodate their shiny new toys.
Not gonna lie and say I thought the dogs all along, because I thought he'd go to Parramatta recently like practically everyone else; so this is by no means an "I told you so."

But throughout I've remembered what I posted early on in the piece when Gould was up to his old tricks.

I think Gould is a ruthless type who - as unikeable as I think he is - seems to know what no one else does and is masterful at deflecting attention.

It's classic Hegelian Dialectic where he knows the end result and has orchestrated the scheme (I say begrudgingly) quite brilliantly:

1. Galvin is the best junior I've ever seen! - thesis
2. Canterbury is not interested in Galvin at all - antithesis
3. Galvin goes to Canterbury - synthesis

Or problem, reaction, solution if you like.

Either way it worked. And the desired result had come to fruition, as those of us who feel we've been wronged are now actually happy the club has seen the back of him.

Even having been played and knowing we'd feel like this, I don't care any more.

You got us Gus. Good for you, you slimy pr1ck.

“We still haven’t closed off on a deal yet, and there are still some things that have got to be worked out with the West Tigers,” Gould said.

Also known as ;

"We are negotiating a way where they can throw Tallyn Da Silva in as well."
