Yep. Maybe there was never going to be any offer from Richo as he knew what was coming.

Just like we may never know the real reason behind the departure of TDS.

In 2029 when Richo is sipping margueritas on a beach in Mexico, he’ll tell a story to the person on the next beach chair how he did this to retain Dally M winner Latu Fainu & Clive Churchill medallist Jared Haywood, his proudest roster management moments before retirement!

Would’ve put an extinguisher to the bullying claims and any doubt he was undervalued by the club though. Anything you hear is never ad lib, Richo is up there with Gould when playing 4D chess.
 
The whole thing is really a bit of an indictment on how much the media play a part in perception, and a close look at the 'need' for things to happen NOW in the current society.

For 18 months the media have portrayed Galvin as 'the best half coming through in years' despite some obvious short comings. The media rode the Tigers hard, ran a campaign on how he was really the only player of significance in the club, how the Tigers could never hold onto a superstar of his level, future immortal...blah blah....all based on a kid that was literally making it up as he went along. I'm convinced this whole sideshow is still heavily related to the agenda of a few journo's trying to remain relevant by concocting stories about the Tigers to keep themselves in the news. At ANY other club, players come & go all the time with nowhere near the scrutiny.

Now, you take all that self-indulgence on a developing kid thrust forward into the prime time, and you shove it onto his influential young head- surround him with leaches like Isaac Moses who sucks the blood out of every client for his own personal gain, play his glory hunting parents off on the idea....then add in the Gould ego trip on Galvin & the Bulldogs & how the club is destined to be the greatest ever...build up an unproven coach in Ciraldo because it fits a narrative...and add in today's culture of needing everything yesterday...no wonder he's thrust into situations he is clearly not ready for.

Don't get me wrong. I do not feel sorry for him, his family, the Bulldogs or Gould. They brought this on themselves & sometimes falling down is the only way to really learn a lesson.

I hope they struggle together. Early signs are....well, surprise, surprise....Galvin & the Bulldogs might be a little overrated...

Not excusing the Tigers either. They helped generate the issue by not drawing a line earlier on it. The constant need by the club to prove they are 'not' what the media says they are is forcing the Tigers to now overcompensate- play all the promising kids, front the media, explain themselves...

The media is a tool to be used. Not to be used by. Don't give them the air. Stick to the club principles & DON'T explain it to the guys on 360 if you get questioned. I don't see Nick Politis rush in front of a camera to explain why Brandon Smith or Terrell May no longer play at the club.
 
One thing worth mentioning is that many of our discards seem to start a bit rough and then it clicks for them. I remember we were pretty pleased with ourselves with moses' early form at Parra, but he's become a hell of a player (whenever he's not injured), as much as I dislike what he did to our club.

So there's plenty of time yet for Galvin to hit some form and cause us grief. But I personally struggle to see how that happens with Galvin.

Don’t get me wrong, Galvin will likely have a good long career if managed correctly.
So far he hasn’t been.

I think its made galvin look like an entitled piece of work and it puts it out the club tried everything but he wanted to.go to a winning team.regardless

We don’t know where Richo was pushing him to play long term and that may be where the abrasion was. Goulds ambiguous as always as to where Galvin will be played long term but is obviously pushing hard early for the halves experiment which is probably what he promised him when getting him to sign on the dotted line. Early days as to how it will pan out but he’s his problem now

Is that a worse outcome than what I put forward?
A 19 year old being painted as entitled isnt as bad as a heavily experienced CEO being out manouvered, making the club look weak whilst making a rival look more competent.

Its such a baffling 'case' the amount of exposure he got and is still getting.
Either Moses is a genius...or i dunno what. Its not his footballing ability...its not his looks
Its the NRL version of The Voice where a 'star' is fabricated.

they usually drift off into obscurity in a few years

This is how I see it. Galvin and family will eventually wake up to themselves and Gould will have his long term lock.
