OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

There would be a lot of people at Pawwa with mixed feelings, annoyed he treated them poorly and just used them to extract more money from the dogs and a fair bit of relief when they watched just how erratic and overhyped he is.Sure he is young and could change it around but not as a half.I am so pleased he is gone.
That’s another thing, Pawwa fans would be jumping for joy right now watching the kid fail. Galvin has basically pissed off 3 fan bases in the space of a couple months … quite a feat lol

Vindication given how smug this little brat has been on social media lately. The kid needs to learn a bit of humility, hopefully tonight was a lesson for him.
I
Hopefully Foxsports do another montage of his hospital passes from last nights game
They had Keiran Foran on the panel last night who speaks well.
Both Ennis and Brandy were very critical of Galvin .(...quite the opposite of fred and joe on 9 apparently...)along with Foran they hypothised the dogs best 17 going into the finals and all had Gal in reggies sexton 7, blurto 6 & haywood 14.
Very critical of his pass selection as was evident....need to learn to cop a hit and take the tackle....one run i noticed in the 2nd half he took it to the line yet braced for impact about 2 metres from the defender virtually stopping.
This is what happens when a young guys put in too early i guess

I think the plan was the opposite with Latu being preferred and Galvin knew his role here long term wasn't going to be in the halves
It’s nice to rewrite history, but Latu never once pushed Galvin out of the halves and Latu was the one playing 13.

Funny way to plan to move Galvin out of the halves.

Didn't watch the second half. Thought he was ordinary in the firs half. Like everyone im hoping this falls apart for the dogs and Galvin cops the blame. However these things rarely fall in Tigers fans favour and its way too early to say he has stuffed the dogs season. So I sit and watch hoping, but not ready to jump on yet. Been burnt too many times.
Yeah I remember how bad Moses was when he first joined Parra.

So everyone including me is pretty much in agreeance that Galvin will end up as a ball playing lock. I can see that screwing up the dogs attack even more. The top of the tree in this position is Yeo - he doesn't overplay his hand and is not always in at first receiver, he shores up the middle in defence and always takes a hard hit up when the attack is stalling. Compare that to Galvin - he will jump in to first receiver as much as he can stunting the effectiveness of the halves, he likes to roam all over the field and he couldn't knock the cream off a bun with his hitups. Also there is no guarantee he has the body that can easily bulk up to play in the middle. He may just be one of those people who stay tall and lanky. Good luck doggies.

Turned the game off at halftime ….,shame I missed the hate watch….

imagine being chained to this bloke for 5 years on a Million plus …

They avoided that through good luck rather than good management..but let’s hope it’s the break they need to turn the ship around ..

Galvinator has still got got Gus … never forget he said he was the best teenager he has ever seen ….

Better start that next dossier Galvs
They’re in big trouble if their long term plan is to play him at 7. It will end the same way it will end for the Knights with Brown. Sexton has been the perfect foil for them, and they’ve blown it up for absolutely no reason.

He failed to identify that either until blindsided by it.
Not really Tucker, if the club are he'll bent on trying to keep him you throw a huge contract at him like we did, in the chance it would entice him to stay. He never had any intention to so left the deal without even looking at it. Everything is relative aswell atm the reported $6 for the 5 year upgrade is way overs. But if he goes on to be the Australian 5/8th then it would at that time look like a good deal. In saying that he could become anything he's still only a baby really. Imo what we offered him was way overs, if that's what it took to keep him, better he's gone. He would never have been committed. I totally understand the optics of him leaving after we offered him such a huge deal. I also understand that Richo would have known the only way for him to stay would have been on mega money, so don't begrudge him for trying if he felt in time Galvin could have been our leader, which I just don't see in his personality at all. I can see both sides of the argument on this one.

I have no idea how he’ll go at lock. Failure I hope. But one thing is for sure he’s definitely not a 7. Still early days, but I have never seen a top side with a perfectly serviceable halfback in Sexton. He’s not a star, but he has a role, and it’s got them to the top of the table, and they rush out and sign this little clown who wasn’t even a halfback here. I thought Gus was smarter than that. The initial plan over summer I think will still be at Galvin at 7, simply cos they have backed themselves into a corner. But it won’t last.

I agree - the smart move would be to send Galvin back to reggies for the rest of the season and go back to what they were doing well before he arrived. I suppose they also think they have Hayward as a backup if the Galvin experiment fails.

Sheens identified Galvin as a future lock. Benji put Galvin in at 5/8 at the start of last year after Latu got injured in preseason. Benji left Galvin at 5/8 hoping to entice him to stay. It didn't work. Even 6 months into last year's season Luai was speaking about Latu as his halves partner, how he was a freak and naturally gifted. Only real reason Galvin stayed at half was because Benji imo through inexperience as a coach tried to set a system up for Galvin that was the same as Sheens set up for him when he burst onto the seen. Benji took the punt because Latus dodgy hamstrings kept him sidelined abit aswell.

All facts. It was the intent for Latu to be in the halves with Galvin moving to forwards. Galvin acknowledges that this was probably the plan in interviews he has done.
If you read the words carefully in galvins press statement about leaving it says "development as a half".... Because our long term plan didn't include him in the halves.

It's got me stumped. The bloke I was working with yesterday is a rabid dogs fan. He was going on about how garbage Sexton is and Reed at hooker is useless, how the Dogs now are a tip team who if players don't fit the team they get rid of them. How they're reserve grade is full of talent. How Galvin is an amazing player one of the best juniors he's ever seen. He was saying in the trial game we played against them this year he saw how Galvin was a play ahead of everyone, how he reads the game like the top players do.
Then he was telling me how good Ciraldo is and how Gus is a genius.
I just reminded him that Gus isn't as big a genius as he thinks cause I'm pretty sure he just did exactly what Sheens wanted to do with Ciraldo. How the kid Gus got to the Dogs, was a kid Sheens got to the Tigers first. How it's not Gus that's really the genius but Sheens. Asked him why Sexton and Mahoney are no good anymore, why not just even give them this season to try and win a comp togeather. He just said they're crap and can't read the game, I'm like they got you to the top of the table. I reminded him it was only 3 years ago they couldn't win a game and now he thinks they're world beaters. Then I said to him my favourite thing about what the Dogs did when they took Galvin. It's that 2 nobodies like you and me are arguing about letting players go from your club for that rat. Imagine the talk in the dressing room. It's ruined your season. Saw him this morning and just laughed at him. He didn't say anything.
