The bloke I was responding to was inferring TDS is better player than Api now. Thats what I was responding to.
Your opinion. It may prove correct in the long run, or you may be wrong and the club may be justified going all in on Haywood.
He would have been handy to have this year, he is miles better than Hope. He is not as good as Api. Parra had a grand total of one more win than us this year, so im not convinced holding on to him would have made any difference at all.

I have no doubt TDS will be a good hooker in the future but there was such a log jam forming going forward with Api/TDS/Lanyon/Haywood something had to give.
How could we keep him with the reported money he wanted, hooker would be cap overweight.
Will it bite us on the arse down the track, let's hope not.

Haywood is a smart operator , only kid iv"e heard in a long time publicly state he wants to educate himself and do a fair apprenticeship in the game and not be rushed forwards for the $$$

I collated some data last year that showed how we played with an API/Tallyn combo vs Api with anyone else. Worst was Api goes 80 but him sharing duties with others wasn’t much better. We would have won more games if he stayed this year and last and that’s what annoys me.

Api needed help this year, that was pretty plain to see and TDS would have been handy to have.
From reporting it seems it was about cap, backing a loyal leader and giving clarity on Haywoods future. I think they both have huge futures, with Haywood having the higher ceiling, so we will see.

I took a look at our 2025 season and chucked it into ChatGPT and this came out:

TDS had an inflated opinion of himself at the time .And i was 1 of his biggest fans
yet glad salary cap expenditure was a priority.
By all reports TDS said it's me or Api or its the highway
In the long run extending an aging Api in hindsight was a good move .salary cap wise
TDS still has more then a few years b4 he hits his peak
3-4 years at 650 for a wanna be - no thanks

I believe hope started in rnd 18 and 20 and that TDS left in round 19..
Everyone probably knew it was coming for rnd 18. So I am sure if he was staying, he would have been next up.
