2007

Let's not get into how the season finished.

But after losing our first 4 we went on to win our next 6.

Was one of our best runs and was one of the few fun periods between the 2005 premiership and our resurgence in 2010.

If I remember correctly Robbie Farah was on fire during the win streak. Hell we somehow won games with a halves pairing of John Morris and Liam Fulton.

Not saying we are about to go on a 6 game winning streak or anything. But in 2007 I never expected a win streak after those first 4 rounds.

In 2007, the team we beat to end our losing streak was the Cronulla Sharks on a Sunday afternoon.

Very similar to the scenario this weekend.

Not expecting a win, but who knows, maybe if we do win it could be the start of something 🤔
Would be great if it could happen. Who knows? The Titans only lost to the Eels by 6 tonight. I'm not hopeful ,but if we could win against the Sharks it will be a statement.

Nobody is expecting them to win except the players mothers.
Madge has told his team the pressure is off and he’s right, the pressure is on the Sharks and will only increase when they realise Tigers aren’t easy beats.
I’ve tipped the Tigers to win 12-10 and it would not surprise me, considering the form of other teams, if they win a few more after this.

There is something about our defence this year which is spoiling the game of our opposition. Newcastle should have put 50 on us the way we played yet scored only twenty odd and posted a similar point haul against Penrith the following week. Warriors were poor against us, then flogged the Broncos who are playing pretty well this year. Titans were dreadful against us, yet pushed the Eels last night and could have got them. The defence is giving us a chance.
If the attack clicks, the passes stick and variation used….I’m not going to pick us but there’s a chance.

The improved defence was evident in the trials and had the Storm rattled for a good part of the game. I watched the Storm bomb a few close to the Raiders line, they’re usually more clinical. But those games against Warriors and Titans you mention we’re interesting, moreso because the Fox journos unanimously gave both games the thumbs down, calling them the worst games of the round.

I can see what Madge is trying to do with this team...he has plenty of youth mixed with experience, its just whats needed to form a strong stable team...once these guys stop making dumb mistakes, giving away stupid penalties, developing discipline and control they will no longer be constantly on the back foot having to defend for 75% of the game...the attack will come and they will be on the front foot developing their attacking structures to put them in a far better scoring position than having to tackle their butts off to defend the errors...once they grasp the fact that defending for long periods takes its toll and the attack falters they will be a far better team in the long run....I think they will improve a lot in the coming weeks, especially when Hastings,AD,TT and AJ get back in the side....dont forget 0/4 should have been 2/4 except for errors and dumb penalties...luck surely has to come their way soon, some fairer reffing would be handy also,,,,

I agree. You are seeing those same small sparks that I mentioned before.

We also lost those first 4 games by a total of -8. We also had Marshall, Hodgson, Farah, Ellis in that line up. I am looking at our roster and I can barely find a player half as good as one of those 4.

I disagree mate with the back half. Even with 90% ball I can't guarantee attack will come. We are a terribly put together side of fringe first graders, most who would occupy either the 16th-17th team of other rosters (at best), and they are expected to come here and be our frontline players. It is great we are bringing youth in, but I barely see much first grade potential in any of these guys. Tuilagi and Stefano yes.
