Just as Bennett he is a has been and should be in the coaches nursing home ,he has nothing else to offer another joke ..Latrell Wayne will look after you .Words fail me with these blokes!

Is the inference Meninga can help Mitchell because of their shared ethnicity?

I think Mal is south sea islander, not indigenous Australian.

I know this is probably hard to believe but Meninga and Mitchell were very similar players at the same age ....Mal would (like Inglis as well ) only have to play for 10 minutes a game in his early days at Souths in Brisbane

It wasn't until Wynnum Manly with Lewis and half the SOO side in the mid eighties that Meninga knew to keep Souths competitive he had to play 80 minutes

Mal has had his share of issues , an alcoholic Dad , becoming a Dad on the 82 Kangaroo tour , his brother Bevan murdering a girl in the late 80's

I guess if Latrell wanted someone he could turn to ....Mal wouldn't be a bad option ...especially seeing he is the National Coach ....

Anyone but the tigers.... They sure are helping me out though...

Source mate?

My Sarcasm...

Im over these media reports... If Tigers are in Box Seat they could put all this to bed today with some sort of statement.

This is bruising our Brand.

It's bruising the Tigers brand sure, but I fear for the mental bruising many Tigers followers have endured during this well worn. long winded ridiculous saga.

What do you want them to say? They've already confirmed they are talking to him. I've seen a lot of comments about what would make the club look like fools. Declaring they are in the box seat, only for Mitchell to sign somewhere else would make them a laughing stock.

We are is rarified air Spartan ...we don't have a clue what to do seeing we are favourite to sign arguably the biggest name off contract

But we don't have that knockout punch that clubs that regularly finish in the Top 4/8 have

We can't turn around to Latrell and say " Ok you are going to join a club that finished 15th for an extra $ 50 k a season , or play with us be guaranteed a genuine shot at a premiership ring "

That is a clincher in my opinion ....and in many players mind ...they don't put their asses on the line every week hoping to finish 9th -16th

You think the Titans Cows or even Souff's have a shot at a premiership...bwhahahahaha...

@happy_tiger But we can guarantee a fullback spot with a side which still has space CAP money for 2020 and a very much larger CAP space in 2021. Top teams don't stay top for ever. Roosters, Melbourne, Souths and Broncos will begin their downward spiral in 2020 and into 2021.

Sorry forgot to put in caps locks

"We don't have that knockout punch that teams that finish Top 4/8 regularly have "

Most players look at this club and see it is exactly as we see the Titans ,Saints ,Cows .....

And I don't see the Forum superpowers posting with any confidence anymore and /or posting with any reassurance

I know things can change so quickly .....I still remember going to bed at 1.00 am after hearing from a players Dad he would remain a Tiger ....and next evening getting an apology message from the same players Dad

@Cultured_Bogan it’s true though . People come on here for informed discussion , and a genuine love of the tigers . Yet there’s no acknowledgement of the positive changes from some fans . I don’t want an echo chamber , but , clear miserable death riding contributes nothing.
If you want to say Lattrell isn’t worth it , or we should play Mbye here etc. that’s constructive discussion.
The tigers suck , Pascoe is useless , Brooks is crap, we will always suck ..... tell me how this is anything other than , a clear need to see a psychologist?

You could argue the same of the people who take hardlines on everything.

While I don't share the eternal pessimism of some, I understand why some WT fans feel that way and why they are wary about being positive for the future. We have been let down so many times over the years by this club and bar 2005 and 2010-11, we have had zero to cheer about.

Lastly, the forum has a foe function. You don't want to see the people who are regularly negative, foe them. Don't demand their silence because it doesn't meet your views.

I guess I fall into the 1st category , but I need to see proof to be convinced

Off field we can see changes that are positive , on field nothing positive has happened since 2011

We see what worked in 2011 , yet we haven't got near that recruitment wise ever since

Everyone is claiming Madge is the answer , I remain unconvinced yet ,he needs to meet some criteria 1st for my vote and Finals footy is a must

If you are expecting one man to be the answer on or off the field then you are setting that person up to fail. No club can be successful by putting all faith or responsibility on the shoulders of any one person - especially after 1 year.

2011 the infamous "boys club" years that most on here couldn't wait to break up to start a rebuild - that worked well.

2011 was our mistake ....and one of the few times we have had the Brisbane type decisions they have to deal with on a regular basis

We had to choose between multiple forwards who had heaps of potential and made some mistakes Fifita over Groat /BMM/Woods

I'm not sticking it all on Madge ...but recruitment is going to be a key component ...and I bet he will want a major say in who we recruit

Where have the club “declared “ themselves to be in the box seat?
