Between us and the Cowboys now, I'm guessing. I think we are most likely to sign him currently, especially since Maguire confirmed Tigers' interests in him, and Cowboys are still hesitant to choose between LM and Holmes.

I think that the Cowboys interest in LM is just designed to put pressure on VH to sign up ASAP.

This is what stops Doggies looking at Latrell. They were happy with the late-season form of DWZ and his re-signing means they aren't willing to pay top dollar to have Latrell run around in the centres.

I expect no team is going to pay $1M for a bloke to hang around in the centres, because it's not that key position any more.

You'd have to be looking at him as a fullback, and that's Latrell's challenge, always has been at the Roosters, to sell himself as a fullback.

Even before Tedesco signed, Roosters had a strained relationship with Latrell, recall they dropped or threatened to drop him a few times right when he started first grade. Then they moved him to centre and signed Tedesco, which dries up his path to highest riches, because Tedesco is currently a superior footballer.

Imagine being in the Roosters' position, willing to let Latrell walk. Shows you what kind of obscene roster they have.

You are spot on. He has the ability to be an elite fullback in the Inglis mould but is unproven. The only teams that will offer him the coin required likely to be 900K+ for 3-4 years would only do it at fullback. Roosters are smart with Tedesco at fullback 800k is the max you pay for any centre.
If the Tigers are serious waiting this out is the smart move. Apart from the Cowboys any team that makes a move will have to shed players so there may be an opportunity there.

I’d prefer 2 high quality forwards as we have too many holes in the roster as it is but if Madge thinks he can get him to be as good as Inglis was you have to back his judgement.

@bythebeardofzeus While I don't disagree with the sentiment that we need more forwards, I'd argue that our backs let us down a bit last year, and it was D and the grit of our young forward pack that kept us in the hunt at the back-end of the season. The market is saturated, there aren't too many forwards going around at the moment; unless of course, you're willing to outbid, out-negotiate or pay to release a player contracted to another club (i.e. pay overs). There is no point carting it up the guts all day if you can't score tries - an area where we've been a bit deficient in recently as our defence has tightened up. Who do you guys think would attract better talent & business opportunities to the club, Arrow, Frizell or Latrell? It's a dead-set no brainer IMO. Latrell is available, on the market today, and we're one of only 2/3 clubs who can fit him in TODAY. We have 5m in the bank for next year + a new state of the art COE. If that's not attractive to prospective signings than I don't know what to tell you guys anymore. Latrell is the franchise player this club has been waiting for since the big 4 fiasco, it's not hard to see.
