FWIW I’ve heard that the Roosters have offered to pay $200k of Mitchell’s contract for next year...but only if he goes to Wests Tigers

Great guy Uncle Nick.

Only problem is he offered to send the 200k in brown paper bags.

Yeah
And on the front of the bag is written in bold capital letters
**CHOOK FEED**
That way the NRL won't look to see what's inside

I love the cool cats on the forum who criticise those of us who want some action. If you’re relaxed and at peace with where we are at - good luck to you. Me, I want to see something positive for a change. Not too much to ssk I reckon

I'm with you Steve. I'll support this club forever and a day, regardless, but after the years of doing it tough um hanging out for something to cheer about. I can only watch the 05 GF, semis, and year highlights so many times.

I hear ya JD. No one loves the Tigers more than me. I’m rusted on to the nth degree. But I’m sick of mediocrity. We are being laughed at - no one wants Mitchell except us and we still can’t finalise the deal. Meanwhile the 2020 season ticks closer and closer.

In the Tigers defence, a lot of other clubs have been jusrlt as mediocre. Take Broncos for example. Own stadium, sponsors, biggest junior development and own city and they havnt won a premiership since 2006. Warriors, Parramatta,Penrith. All have more facilities and sponsors yet ond could say they have been as ordinary az us if not more.

It irritates me how a great deal of people ckntinuevto say we have the longest finals drought. Who cares. 10 years from now people only remember premierships, not finals appearances. Until we ard a top4 side and have a genuine cha nce of winning it, scaping into the finals in7-8th spot doesnt interest me. Still awhile away yet.

Don’t you have to make the finals first to win a premiership, and your looking 10 years down the track

Yes but no team has one the grand final outside the top4 warriors and parramatta got to the big one but no good. Thag wxtrq game and tr avel makes it very hard. Get to thw top4 and see how we go.

The goose Crawley also wrote the article in the same paper titled 'proof: roosters sombrero salary cap a myth' - he somehow justifies player retention at the club by claiming they pay their stars $68,966 as proof - a figure he claims has decreased since they won their first title in 2018. Absolute garbage.

Maybe they have special bags with GOOSE FEED on them.

I'm gradually coming around to the point of view that, if there is any development, I'll see it on the WT website as an official announcement. Otherwise just more speculation and rumour.

Yep. You are on the money. 300+ pages of repetitive dribble. Still, I'm a sucker and come back for my daily dose just in case.

Before an announcement from the club, there will be a tweet from someone saying the deal is done and to expect an imminent announcement.

Anyway, it’s not an announcement from us you should be waiting for, it’s an announcement from the Roosters that they are releasing him.

I agree 100% with you history says can’t win a premiership out side of the top 4 .But we need to start making the finals on a regular basis first

But, historically we hear the same message, read the same posts, get excited and in the end we sign Pita Godinet.
My post is at its heart expressing the frustration that nothing ever happens for us. It always ends in tears. I want to wake up and receive official news that we have diligently and professionally signed talented first graders.

I understand that mate but that's been Tigers for basically my entire 40 years of life. I'd love us to be a powerhouse club but I also can't bring myself to spend energy wringing my hands about it, because it's never happened in the 4 decades I've been following footy.

So I'd say your issue is getting excited about the same messages you've always heard before. That's like getting excited when politicians speak, because of course they always say the moderated and up-beat thing, which generally doesn't work out like that.

Everything with Wests Tigers needs to be tempered, because at a basic level we are a disappointing club. That's not to be pessimistic about it, I'm a very optimistic person and I burn when we lose/fail, but I just won't spend energy winding myself up in the preseason about stuff that may or may not change the course of the next season's events.

During the season, by all means wear the emotion and get all worked up, because there's always a game of football the following week to potentially change the course of the season.

But offseason is a barren wasteland for football fans, clinging to every scrap and skerrick of information like a puddle in the desert.

Besides, Tigers are literally just a click away from becoming a finals-quality side, Latrell or otherwise. That's exactly how it happened in 2005, it just clicked into place. You can't really predict when that might happen, e.g. Sharks 2016, Raiders 2019 - it just happens. Certainly you need to be about the finals in the first place, and we are pretty close to that already.

In this particular situation, hasn't that already happened a half dozen times?

I'd be amazed if we announced the LM signing on the Q&A .....if it happens

It should be a sign we are at least gaining parity with other clubs , not a freak show

The Roosters still need to make it formal.
