Latrell Mitchell Contract Discussion

I certainly do want Mitchell at our club. It would be the biggest signing ever. It would make our club a desirable place for other players instantly.

If we don't get him, the fact we are an undesirable location for players is highlighted, and it's even harder to climb out of the average perception that follows us around.

I'm not "being negative" here, I'm outlining how massive this opportunity is for us. It's make or break for us for the next few years.

This has been going on for literally only 2 weeks. No one would have thought this was conceivable a month ago. Makes me wonder how some of you lot got through the big 4 crap. That was a solid 12-18 months.

You can't hurry love , no you just have to wait ....she said love will come easy ......its a game of give and take

It'll happen when it happens or doesn't when the time is right for all parties ....panic in February 2020

I think someone questioned the fact of forum members not wanting Mitchell

I can't speak for all , but on my behalf it is no different from any other player we sign

The price still has to be right and is his signing the priority to get us into finals footy

I personally think if we sign him before sorting out our glowing issues in the forward pack and hooker we have it ass about face

If we could somehow manage to sign Mitchell and 2 quality (and I mean quality forwards ) lets do it

But unless we backend a 2nd year with one of the three above players I can't see us having the funds in our current situation

Maybe if we offloaded JR or McQueen it could be possible , but no one is going to take McQueen for more than 200k and Reynolds at 450 k max

Frizell and Luciano?

or Luciano and Arrow?

And you'll need to find another 800 k from thin air

This thread has become very negative.

Similar to what GNR said, if two weeks ago we would be told that within a few weeks we might nab Latrell then obviously we would all be cool and appreciate the sensitivity and time taken to sort this out.

Having said that, constantly refreshing these pages for some hot news without any coming will invariably lead to exasperation and then to discouragement.

But I feel positive. So I'd say waiting on news and on these pages is "frustrating" rather than negative.

Sure, but how many heartaches must we stand?????

If the reports are true, we have offered him enough cash, he would have spoken to Matterson and Teddy, and maybe doesn’t want to do the hard yards like both those players did whilst here, he won’t be able to hide in a star studded side, he will be the go to man, give him an ultimatum I think

I think some of us still haven't got over that. And for so many different reasons.

He will go to the Bunnies, we are only backup

The earliest he could go there is 2021.

Good , he can take up cricket throughout 2020.

@Newtown he waits to see what happens in relation to the South Sydney situation.

What do you mean what happens? The Roosters won't release him to Souths . Stop being scared of this club succeeding.

He is 22.... Has won nearly everything he has touched and already has a young family.

This is his 1st big contract negotiation and he hasn’t had a break for nearly 2yrs.

Give LM and the club some slack. Let LM have a holiday, refresh, have a well thought out view and if he decides to join us awesome .... if not well it isn’t as though any major signings have happened

There is a big reason why that no other big names have moved clubs yet - because most of the players on on breaks.....

why is there a debate whether we should sign him or not? we signed josh reynolds; russel packer; ben matalino and that other tatted up guy from souths. Common people!

LM i reckon is one of the top players in the comp!

Hows that being scared of the club succeeding? I can't even do the mental math on how you got to that. Do you get enjoyment from these passive aggressive digs at people? you get we all support the same team right?

Can you link me to the article that clearly states with quotes that the roosters will not release LM to Souths? I cant seem to find it. I can find ones where Souths say they're not interested but we all know how that goes. Even if! Roosters management lost their mind and said they wont release him to souths. What are they going to do for 2020? the talk of playing him for Norths is rubbish (see judas materson) and they would be paying a substantial chunk of the cap for that. Plus, could you imagine the bad press they'd cop? no way that happens.

Its a reality that a club like Souths would be of interest to a player with LM's cultural background. what is unknown is if he would be interested in being the next GI or Souths want him.

Why are the roosters telling LM he will be playing reserve grade if he stays with them?

Maybe because he has told them he is going to see out his contract with them and sign with rabbits 2021?
