Latu Fainu #282

He debuted at the knights a couple of years back , and was supposed to be the cream of thier crop coming through . I think he’s been held back massively by injuries .
Hopefully it’s a case similar to the kid from the roosters where , the talent was always there , he just needed to get on the field .
But I remember watching that game when he debuted .
I think once he's given a chance, he'll make the most of it and will impress a lot.

He's something special tbh

I guess we just had a player like this last last year with Sezar …he seemed a pretty selfless guy on cheap money …. Although I would suggest when called on his performance was mixed at best ..

Maybe we could get Hastings back on the cheap next year ? Before people start turning their nose up, let me know your suggestion of an experienced guy that will be ok with being dropped when Latu is available for selection?
Get the idea of an experienced head needed Tom but Hastings has the knack of getting under someone's skin at most clubs he lands at.

Stuffed if I know who the solution is short term Reynolds ideal but at 500/1.

If we were to bring someone else in there would need to be ALOT of consultation not only with Latu, but with his brothers and with Luai.

Everyone would need to buy into the strategy, or we risk him cracking the shits.

Reynolds is a match winner as he showed against us, and he is still an every week starter in the NRL ..I doubt he wants to play second fiddle to some still unproven 20 yr old like Latu…

The way it is at the moment he wouldn't have to worry Latu spends most the season on the sideline it could take 2 years for his body to harden up.
it’s a big concern that he has repeated hamstring issues at such a young age …this could be a chronic condition that ends up shortening his career …fingers crossed that he has just been a bit unlucky so far ..
latu will leave if we sign someone ahead of him i know that 100%

we just need a back up that can do a job if he’s injured, Tyrone may perhaps 🤔

Not sure about Tyrone May …
What’s the deal with Luke “over the” Falls ? Anyone know how he has been going this year ? Also. Bud is still on the books for next season

It would be a really dumb move by us if we did do this..

Agree on the back up option..
Is that just bud Sullivan? Might be better after a year with uncle wayne

club not fussed with falls not sure why, if bud stays he’ll do a job but i suspect a release is coming soon for him

I think Benji is going to lase up the boots again ,the old captain coach 😂. Just til we are ready for Latu . It's one of the big announcements Richo was talking about, Also Benji wants to play against Galvin in round 22 . 🤪 🐯
😂😂
No issue if he gets suspended for elbowing Galvin to the face either, he was only ever back for one game.
That would attract players to the club..
Who wouldn't want to play for a coach that does that for his team!!
Fk I love some of these fantasies hahaha

I have high hopes for Latu and truly believe he is a superior 6 to Galvin. I have to admit whilst I liked the fact we had a player like Galvin and I enjoyed watching him do well for the team. I was always anxious that we would lose Latu or ruin him by playing him out of position at 13 or 14. I was keen to see Galvin move to 13 and play an Yeo style of game, however after seeing him come back from the offseason with an almost identical body shape and watching the way he defends I realised that he may never become a 13 and he probably did not bulk up because he doesn't want to play 13. So, when all the talk started of making him a long term offer, I was conflicted and to be honest I am now somewhat relieved, as now Latu gets a rails run at the 6 or 7 and his destiny is in his hands (hopefully not his hammys).
