Laughable Officiating

Ref quality has gone downhill for awhile.

The officiating is an absolute disgrace. Pretty much every game, every week.
The Warriors v Raiders game today where the Raiders had a successful challenge when their bloke was tackled a few millimetres off the ground which resulted in a mid-air tackle ruling. Yet at the death the ref was happy to let a (at least 2m, but possibly 4m) forward pass go. Thank god RTS was there to shut it down, that was disgraceful refereeing.
On a positive note, RTS ran from close to 50m to pull off that try-saver. What an effort!

No. Unhappy that they can rule on that, it was a matter of millimetres in that instance. Yet they miss 4 metre forward passes.
And the fact that blatant forward passes are highlighted massively during tv replays yet still cannot be ruled on. It's a joke.

Unhappy they can rule on things correctly, but you also are mad that they get things wrong? If he's in the air he's in the air and it's a penalty. You sound like Joey saying knock ones shouldn't count if it's in slow motion ?

The rule was brought in to stop players legs being taken out .
Not for a cuddle 2mm of the ground .

Rules are rules. Do you really want to give the refs the decision of what counts as being bad enough of a tackle in the air to be a penalty and what isn't? The less grey area the better, it either is or isn't a penalty

Or correct PTB's enforced? We won't go into detail about the dozens of other indescretions that are ignored every game.

Under the old rules the defender is ruled offside and penalty is given.

Under the new rules, is six again given and then you play the knock on so its the defending teams ball?

I swear this happened in our game with LL. Six again called then we dropped the ball off the pass he flicked in a panic to Talau... Penalty seems much fairer.

I just can not believe we won a match with Tosser Sutton as the ref. No idea what our win ratio is under Sutton, but it has to be very very low.

With Horse Maxwell in charge of the refs, there seems to be a push for some of the younger refs....and not before time

Pretty sure in another game that same thing happened 6 again was called the attacking team lost the ball and were then given a penalty instead

Yep - the 6 again should only be for ruck infringements. Teams have been standing offside from round 1 knowing that they will only get hit with a 6 again call. I'm still not sold on one referee. Personally i would like to see the main ref who rules on everything and referees from the ruck and a secondary ref who can only rule on offside and stands at the 10 mtre mark in defence.

Especially that Sutton Bozo that had is today and against the Raiders... he is the worst ref since Tim Mander , always biased against the underdog clubs and loves loves loves Bennet , Bellamy and News Ltd clubs, he is a terrible excuse for a referee. He almost single handedly drove me away from the game because of his comitinually pathetic officiating and the fact that he is always the biggest influence on the game, as he thinks the crowd is there for him and him alone!

I'm pretty sure they tried to explain what they were for through the mic to begin with, when the rule was first introduced. Now it is a muffled mumble at best if in fact any explanation at all. It's a horrible rule open to massive bias and game manipulation by the ref.

How bad is Sleeman?

Her best effort came a few years ago (the last season of the under 20's NYC) during the semi-final I'm sure it was, between WT and the Cowboys. The ball bounced over the touchline by at least 1 or 2 foot, she was right next to it and supposedly didn't see it and the Cows scored the matchwinner in that set from memory.
I would hate to have her as a acupuncturist, she'd stab an eye.

In fairness, I thought we received two calls early on that we were a little lucky with. In the other hand I couldn't see how it was at all possible that Talar knocked on when he was quite literally facing his own goal line. Knock ons nowadays are nothing more than a toss of the coin. They'd be better off having a rule that if you drop it you lose it.
