Laurie's absence

Is it true that our number one fullback was watching a bush footy game rather than watching his teammates play their first trial of the year? If so, my goodness that is an awful look. I assume he would have got permission from the club but it is still a very bad call from Laurie considering the Penrith gf celebrations incident as well as the crucial state our club is in at the moment.
At the very minimum, it is terrible optics for our club. If we start to give this guy Latrell-like allowances, we need to show him the door as he is no Latrell. He seems a nice kid but it is a situation we will definitely have to monitor. If a vacancy at Penrith opened up, he'd be right out the door.

What was the game he watched, there could be more to it and he is injured.
It does look bad I admit but don't know all the facts and not worth losing sleep over, yet.

As I said in another thread...

Laurie's highlights of the last few months.

- Wearing a Panthers jersey and ecstatically celebrating their grand final win, live on TV

- Being injured / rehab group and posting videos of himself doing front flips on a scooter at local skate Park. Jet skiing skiing the likes of Tyrone Roberts and Alan Fitzgibbon.

- Watching bush footy with his family instead of supporting his team mates.

He is a professional footballer. Considering the Penrith gf antics, he needed to heed the message to be more professional. It does not seem to be getting through to him. I deadset hope Logan Dillon develops quickly.

No great concern about this and actually think trips like this are great for the welfare of players, being beneficial to both club and individuals.

Similar thoughts on him joining in on the Panthers celebrations (apart from the jersey) as the formative part of him growing into a man was spent there. That said, the grace period has ended on that front and just like from Tamou in particular, I don't want to hear about Penrith from them.

It's a trial guys. Let's not lose sleep on this one. Especially if what speed2burn said is true.
If what speed2burn said is in fact true, then that is acceptable and understandable and it's a non-issue.
If not, it's once again a poor look from the guy and the club.
As far as it only being a trial, yep trials are nothing games, but all the Roosters blokes were there sitting in the grandstands supporting their club.

He must have asked permission from the club first and it must have been grated and it must have been granted for a reason

You sound very pedantic.

I'd rather judge what he does on the footy field couldn't care less what he does off it.

That is where you're wrong. What you do off the field DOES matter when you are in a position as a public figure. Laurie has done nothing wrong in this case.....but don't say it doesn't matter what you do off the field in 2022. This is not 1971.

Yeah OK, keep judging him from stalking him on social media. You don't know the bloke and shouldn't pretend like you do.
