@Newtown said:I think that the best solution would be to have him on the bench this week as a replacement back rower for Sironen. If Lawrence plays well there we cold be on to something.
@Oxygen said:We might just get our wish the hot rumour doing the rounds is three first graders at a Sydney club will get a tap on the shoulder and be told to move on even so they have contracts for next year.
I'm hoping Lawrence is one of them.
@happy tiger said:One issue with Lawrence as I said in another thread is that we are playing him too flat in attack
If you can get him running against the defensive grain with momentum he is going to cause problems for opposition defences and it will create room for Richards , especially with Sirro running as a decoy Having to make decisions with two blokes running angles creates defensive confusion and bad reads which will result in points
Add to that having either Moses or Austin running the inside line and our left hand side would actually look dangerous
The more options we can give Brooks with the ball in hand the better we will look and the more time Brooks will have
@cochise said:Chris' situation is a difficult one for me, I absolutely love him as a footballer. It's difficult because his form is so poor, but that poor form is a direct result of an injury he sustained while representing our team. Something he always has done with pride and passion.
We talk about how we should be looking after Simon Dwyer and Tuiaki for injuries they sustain while playing for us, but most people want to throw Chris on the scrapheap. Yes he is on big $, but he was worth every cent of that contract when we signed him. Fans complain all the time about players not being loyal to the club, case in point when Teddy signed with the Raiders, but shouldn't the club show some loyalty to a player they signed to a big contract who then suffered a horrific injury while playing for the contract?
Chris is such a confidence player, I wish he had of scored that try yesterday because maybe that would have helped build that confidence. He still has positives as a player but I don't really see the side trying to utilise those strengths.
He has also become a bit of a whipping boy. Yes he was poor yesterday and last week, very poor in fact, but there were people bagging him for the knock on when Pat jumped over the top of him to take a bomb that he was clearly in a position to take.
After all that, I don't really know what to do with Chris, I keep hoping he will have a break out game and come good again. I really don't think any of our other options are much stronger so I'd like to see us try and build a gameplan that takes advantage of his strengths.
Ok flame away.

His hip does not drop balls nor does it pass to bloody no one, it doesn't miss tackles. He has lost his passion for the game and needs to retire. He is an Ayshford clone.
He hasn't lost the passion Milky he is playing badly and needs a change
Its his 9th season in grade
What some don't realize we are probably paying 500 k + and will lose out big time if he leaves as we will still be paying his full value

Not all dislocations are the same severity, especially with a joint as large and complex as the hip. Its quite obvious his injury has had a large impact on his form. He went from being a world class centre pre-injury to a reserve grader after it. I actually have a feeling that he may have lost a lot of flexibility because of the injury which has led to his lack of speed, mobility and hamstring issues. I'm not saying we have to keep him in 1st grade but I believe we should honour is contract that the club signed him to. That is the risk we took by signing him to such a long contract.
@barra said:MUST be dropped to State Cup until he earns the right to play NRL again, or himself looks for a contract release. By his own admission he is a confidence player and he is CLEARLY not getting confidence from his performances in the NRL. In fact, he is probably helping to erode the team confidence with the amount of sub-par performances he is putting in. Certainly he is a big part of our problems at the moment!!
Enough is enough.
@happy tiger said:I think a few are forgetting the positive OK his hands were crap , but they have only been bad the last few weeks
He found some space v Penrith and some holes , if he gets his hands right and hangs onto those balls
And the drop when he was about to score , unless you have been in the situation when you land with the ball under yourself at full steam and slid forward and see how hard it is to hang onto cleanly you'll never understand

That's crap Happy , a seasoned pro that close to the line would've transferred the ball into one hand , reached out and scored ! Or at least attempted to do the above .
Lawrence used to be one of my favourite players but he's not up to it anymore (which saddens me ). He's never ever going to regain his form no matter how long potter persists with him and that's a fact .
