An MRI scan today has confirmed Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence is expected to miss between 4-5 weeks with a hamstring injury.

The resultsof the MRI scan showed a low grade 2 tear in the right leg.

Lawrence suffered the injury on his way to setting up the match winning try for Beau Ryan in the thrilling 16-14 victory over St George Illawarra Dragons at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.

The talented centre was playing just his eighth match this season after overcoming a dislocated hip injury suffered in round 3 against Canberra.

Geez, we just can't take a trick. I dont think there has been another team that has had to overcome such injury problems in the last few years. Just as we start to get on a roll we lose another gun. Same thing happened during finals last year. Has there been a week where we haven't had an injury? We are due for some luck….

Yeh this is truely devastating, I think we could have racked up some big scores last few weeks (not that we can't now) but having him there gives the team a new level of potency! Personally I dont think he will miss more then 4 comp games…
Please get better ASAP rowdy

Oh well…at least he'll be back for the first game of the finals....meantime I'd have Brown in the centres...but we all know Moltzen will play centre with McFumbles at fullback

Not good.

Even if he is out for 4 weeks and just comes back in the first week of the finals its not good as it will take him a few more weeks to find his feet.

Personally I dont feel we are any better than an 8th placed side without Lawrence

We really just cannot catch a break this year!! :frowning:

Get better soon Rowdy, all the best on hopefully a speedy recovery!

Just remember last year people, remember he broke his jaw against the Storm at about the same time as last year, he came back for the finals and performed great for us.

This is an absolute tragedy! Why is it always our strike players who get injured repeatedly?? I reckon with Lawrence there we could've finished anywhere between 4th and 6th place, but now we're probably looking at 7th or 8th and we will have little hope from there. Everything is against us this year - it's very disappointing 😢

dont worry people we have lote comming back and with the injuries we have had already this year we can handle it. Sure chrissie lawrence has been playing great but at the end of the day its been the whole teams performance thats elevated our form. We will be fine

Will definitely miss him. It would be nice to see him back before the finals so he can get a run before the big games. On a positive not, how good will it be to see Lawrence and Lote on that left hand side again come finals time?

yeah cant wait for them to team up^^^and i think out of the two lote needs to play a few games to become more match fit and feel his way back to form but chriss showed from the get go when he made his return from the hip that he never lost his touch!!
