Lawrence Vs Gasnier

It's no secret that Lawrence is my favourite Tiger but last night's performance was well below his standard (or anyone's standard actually). He may have played with a broken jaw or whatever, but I really really hope he gets stuck into Gasnier this time.

Gasnier is the kind of bloke who if you give space will terrorize you. This is like the old times when there was nothing wrong with Lawrence's attack but his defence was letting him down. I'm very sure there will be alot of traffic coming to our left hand side on Lui.

Ellis is playing a great bodyguard for Lui but he can't always handle two man's jobs. Hopefully, Lawrence is on his game against the Dragqueeens or he could be in for a long night.

I hope I'm not :deadhorse:

It's seriously funny…..

Chris Lawrence comes back early from a broken jaw....involved in some poor defence that lead directly 2 points (what was Lortay doing by the way) yet still scores a try involved in another and made some good hits in the second half and seemed to grow a little in confidence....

Form is temporary Class is permanant...

Lawrence v Gasnier....bring IT...

I might sound like I am criticising Lawrence but I'm not. I'm not even doubting his ability to mark Gasnier.

I rate Lawrence very highly and I think he is in with a chance in the Four Nations and I would go out and celebrate like a mad woman if he did. But do you think depending on yesterday's performance he will get a look in? Like IDK, I think he is too underrated by other people and I want him to show the world what he is capable of.

Also, if you feel that I am criticising Lawrence for his performance yesterday, feel free to lock this thread coz I neva eva want discussion of how crap a Tigers player is.

Nah mate ….it is actually in the game threads from last night....

I didn't think you were doubting him at all...the opposite in fact..

Haha Thank You :d

I really hope he can carve up Gaz and tell him to stick to French Rugby whatever he played!!

He wasn't meant to play until next week right? Hopefully it's healed enough so that he doesn't need to worry about it.

grab gasnier by the collar and throw him to the ground.
it puts him off, he will lose interest, let him eat some dirt, alot.
don't worry Lawrence will be fine.

lawrence v gasnier …. a no contest. manchild will carve up gasnier " the gay deceiver ". lawrence on the way up, gasnier past it

Lawrence needs to improve his defence ten-fold if he's going to contain Gasnier. If he doesn't put his body on the line and comes up with the arm grabbing he did against Canberra, Roger ramjet will carve him up I'm sorry to say. Hopefully another week will help Rowdy's jaw and he'll be in for a big game.

Gasnier has got to be the most overated player in the NRL.. Cant believe that he is getting considered for the Kangaroo's at the end of the year. Since coming back to the NRL he has done nothing beside throwing a dummy and running the feild against a team who had already given up. I would expect Lawrence to show him up in both attack and defence.

I have a visions of Lawrence throwing Gasnier over the sideline, Richards style!

Gasnier is one of the most over rated players ever. Gasnier defence is suspect. Having Gasnier and Soward on the right hand defence will win the tigers the game.

I expect the combinations of Ellis, Lawrence, Benji and Lote down our left hand side attack to carve up the Dragons, Sheens will be extremely confident about the match ups on that side of the field and we will have a game plan to take advantage.

Lawrence near his best will destroy Gasnier in both attack and defence.

i think on friday his talk wasn't as good as usual. Expect to see him bounce back with a good showing on saturday night!

Lets be fair the guy had surgery on his jaw two weeks ago and only just played against the raiders and IMO he's been our most consistant player this year other than Ellis. Although defence isnt Lawrences strong point I have no doubt he will be able to contain Gasnier. It's Lote im slightly concerned about hopefullly he doesnt come off his line to much. But Lawrence is quicker, stornger and now a better player than Gaz is.

Gee people I wouldn't be so quick to bag Gasnier - the guy has an outstanding record of carving us up.

Even if he may not be as good as he was he is still very dangerous.

Gasnier is only as good as his forwards and halves allow him to be. On his day he is still an amazing talent but our focus should be in the middle of the field. The Dragons cannot cope if you shut down their middle yardage game. Sowards kicking needs to be pressured by one or two agile and alert markers without rushing and making a gap.

The St George unit is what must be broken down. Not any one player
