Lazarus named for BRET

This is all part of the blooding. Lazarus has plenty of skill to burn which strangely enough was never given the opportunity to show much of what he is capable of.
He will take these past two weeks back to State Cup level where he will raise the bar another level and continue his rise to the top.
I'm not disappointed Sheens has dropped him, but i'm filthy he continued to play him out of position..

Good halves pairing for BRET and I'm sure Lazo will feel much more comfortable playing his own game at 7.

bravo sheens, you killed the kids career because of your egotistical ways. what he experienced in his 2 weeks in was nothing short of unprofessional by all involved i wouldnt be surprised to see him leave

Killed his career? Nonsense. He got a taste of 1st grade and next time he gets a run he'll be a better player.

As others have said hope this makes him a better player in the long run. He has missed a lot of footy over the last 2 years, I would rather have him playing 80 minutes at half every week than getting sifted all over the park.

However if he was to leave for another club next year I would not be too upset. For mine Robert Lui has a lot more talent and ability than Lazarus and we should also have a returning Moltzen next year. I also thing Arana is a better player than Lazarus as well. If Lazarus stays and makes first grade here I will be wrapped for him as he would have got in front of 3 halves who I rate above him (4 if you count Benji).

Blake's performances in the upcoming months will determine his future at our club.

Lazarus played out of position on debut alongside a team on the backfoot who were defending a majority of the game therefore breaking them. He gets another shot game 2, and again is played out of position, yet is criticised about what he offers us - hello he wasn't halfback!!. Now he is back in state cup. Poor kid. He is a halfback, let him have the reigns!! I really hope his confidence wasn't given a blow from this.

Paul Fletcher is a good coach and a great mentor to young Lazarus. I am confident all will be right

I agree Smeg, and Lazarus is very fortunate to have the guidance of Fletch. But I feel for Laz, he has been on a rollercoaster ride to get his shot to show what he's got and then he was instructed to play a different role. I was starting to think Sheens had learnt from previous choices he has made of which I have been critical of, the last month he has made some great changes for the team and I found myself impressed with him for a change. Now however I am left shaking my head like I have for years. If it leaves me feeling so crap as a supporter I can only imagine how these young kids feel (and yes I know they have a level of professionalism where they try to understand these things) but surely they have their quiet moments of reflection and wonder why the hell they bother. This is their dream, it must hurt like hell sometimes.

No doubt.

The Penrith game was just an insult to every Tigers fans to name one side and play one so glaringly diffeent positionally and gain nothing from it
