Leichhardt Oval Master Plan unveiled

Anyone advocating for the return of the parent clubs is a dope.
😀 😀

Yes,

20 years on this forum but genuinely never posted anything disrespectful to the Balmain parent or tne JV.

I neither want the return of the magpies to the NRL or smoke dope lol.

Can you imagine the rush of personal attacks and vitriol from anonymous posters hiding behind multiple accounts.

That has always been the trouble with this forum.

And I like Hal61.👍

Location matters, but IMO the team needs identity.
Our Wests Tigers identity.
I recall going to Parra Stadium the first game we played there - as our home game too, I might add (albeit the match was against Parramatta).
Without doubt, the worst fan experience ever - no soul, no "ours", no connection.
Home must mean home, ours not anyone else's.
No clubs have this....

Except for Manly and Cronulla.......they're still like as in the late 70s.

agree a shared stadium would be very bad, just think it has more legs than a redeveloped CSS, NRL state government federal government can get a new stadium built shared by 2 clubs at Liverpool. Gusnwould weave his magic and we would be in trouble as a club
Liverpool belongs to Wests as per the agreement between Wayde and Moore in 86......part of the deal to get us to play at Cambo.....and they got our juniors.

The Wests Tigers are a demographic from the city to Camden.

We don't give donations.

dogs run pretty close to Liverpool I'd say they would be happy to have a home base there

I went yesterday. No other general public but me and the missus. You can't go on the field, just on the hill and the seats on that side. The only shade is down near the revamped Glenn Morrison memorial toilets, so it won't be a pleasant picnic spot on a day with decent sun.
Wow!!! the revamped Glenn Morrison memorial toilets.
Did you have a look to see if Alan Jones was in there.
Very Happy New Year to you and the Family.

unless government funds the stadium at Liverpool and shared with Bulldogs and tigers?
That would be a terrible result for us and probably spell the beginning of the end for the club
I agree with @innsaneink re Campbelltown.
But I also reckon our State Govt. would be more willing to spend big $$$ on a shared ground with the Dogs, either at Campbelltown or a completely new ground in Liverpool.
Have a Great New Year Jedi.

No, we can't ever share a home ground again - Parra's Stadium proves that!
I haven't lived in Sydney for many years now, so I have forgotten much of the layout between Belmore and Campbelltown.
Would a ground in Liverpool be approx. equidistant from both, so as to accommodate both WT and the Dogs?
Happy New Year t_o:
Ps... please keep those jokes rolling in, as the Forum wouldn't be the same without 'em.

With Parra's Leagues Club being rite at the ground, it would have been a disaster of gigantic proportion if WT were forced or even had the slightest thought of using Parras ground as a shared ground.

30kms as the crow goes between Belmore & Leumeah...Liverpool roughly half way

The junior districts share a border

Imo, the future for WT is the wild West ie. Campbelltown.
But with WT and the Dogs sharing a border in L'pool, I can see a lot of merit in a shared stadium there.
If both clubs get together rite from the start in the knowledge that the stadium will be equally shared and plan it that way, which shouldn't be too darn hard, I reckon the State Govt will be happy to donate $50,000,000 to the ground, knowing they will get lots of votes at the next election 😍.
Lots of Good Wishes for 2024 ii: 🙂 and with that I hope You will have some happy and positive news re. your health, for the Forum in the very near future 👍.

Thanx @BZN.... All the best for the new year to you too

With respect, fans limited to going to games due to distance or being interstate, makes it easy to have an opinion about where a home base should be set up - ie because you are at most times watching it on TV and not impacted.

The club on the other hand has to - if the purpose of having a home ground is to attract fans to attend games - has to be more mindful of what motivates fans to attend games and what barriers may arise by shifting the base.

Getting across Sydney is costly, stressful and sometimes just too difficult- especially when it comes to night games in peak hour traffic.
Totally different environment and market to one town teams.
Being a success on the field will attract new fans to a team or club, but until WTs can demonstrate that they are capable of that they should be focussing on maintaining the fans they have got instead of possibly alienating them by making it more difficult to support the team. Get it right on the field first.
