Let's assume Tui gets stuck in reggies

Stick with Tui. There is a concern there somewhere, id suspect injury, i dont think cleary would play anyone who was not fit. If if does not pan out, a top line fb wont be far from coming onto the market.

If he is injured why is he named fullback for Wests, shouldn't he rest, he is dropped because he is over weight and getting caught out of position too much, his attack is awful as well, 46m last week, and was never sighted. It may be as simple as he is lazy and doesn't put in like say Thompson or MWZ.

I think we are a better team with a fully fit lolohea in it. Hopefully works his ass off in Reggie’s and training and comes back to where he belongs.

I liked him up in the line in defence last year. When he took Moses spot our defence suddenly got a whole lot better. I’m not sure how he go at centre but I’d try him there in ISP .

Thats the move.

What needs to happen.

He may have a niggling injury, but I agree I think it's about his form, which RG is best place to work it out.

If not about form then it's most likely that the coach has a game plan for manly that Tui either isn't fit enough (weight or injury) to execute and he may also think this game won't be decided by 2 points or the kicker he has in mind is as good as or good enough. Or none of the above.

I guess I should go pick splinters out of my ass.

Because Thompson is the better option at fullback.

Would you be prepared to swap Tui for Alex Johnston?

I'm not prepared to write off Tui just yet, I think he is playing injured. Just thinking ahead here.

Johnston couldn't fake fullback to convince a four year old. 7/10 winger, barely replacement level fullback. Not someone to expend cap room on.

I was thinking Souths might want Tui for fullback and AJ could play wing for us. He would definitely be an upgrade.

I really wanted him as our number 6, he played all his junior footy at 5/8 and at the end of last year he was solid at 5/8\. I don't think he'll come good as a fullback, I don't see a future for him at this club.

Tui is likely our bench utility next year if Benji retires. He may be back with injury or when fully fit later in the year. If not Tui will end up at Canberra at some stage. Wighton May end up being sacked when the video gets released. Stuart made him an offer as did the Cowboys. They have Brad Abbey who is not ready yet.

He is high quality tui. His main issue at the moment is he looks over weight and a tad off the pace. So whether it’s fullback or centre he will be found out. We need his goal kicking and he has some great touches. Fully fit Tui has to be in our team at either 1,6 or 4\. The main issue is getting him fully fit which might be an issue if he is carrying some niggling injuries.

Agreed, he was signed because Moses left. If Moses stayed I honestly don't think Cleary would have approached Tui. However… he still fits into the squad, but unfortunately not in his best position which Is 5/8\. Despite all of Cleary's hard work moulding Tui as a FB over the off-season, it hasn't come good because Tui just isn't a natural fullback.

Tui handled the last time he was dropped very professionally. He didnt sook and said he knew what he had to work on. In the nsw cup trial he played at 1 the worst thing he did was try too hard.

I dont think this time will be any different.

If Tui is stuck in the Reggies than we are looking pretty good, leading the comp.

Lol that is true. It is funny thinking that because I remember preseason thinking we'll need Tui's x-factor to win games this season.

I agree. Tui Seems to be a better 5/8 then a fullback. Either move him to the centers and move Kevie to the back or wing OR move Reynolds to the Centers and Tui to 5/8

I think Tui adds something good to our team attack and he kicks and is acceptable in defense.

Tui was barely noticeable against Melbourne last week. He looked well off the pace. As others have suggested he may well be carrying an injury.
The telling thing for me was when he batted back the 40/20 attempt from Smith, he just stood there looking at the ball and let Thompson run 5-10m to pick it up.

Granted we need a goal kicker, but Tui hasn't really had any impact at all this season. Compare him to a guy like Thompson who runs it back as hard as he can and goes searching for the football. On paper Lolohea is probably a better option, but Thompson has it all over him from the first few rounds.

A tough decision, but the right one.

Not as if he is coming off a frightening injury like McQueen, who continues to improve, if he can’t get his fitness to the required level swap him out

Looks like we have found a new whipping Boy.

Daniel Fitzhenry circa 2018

Let it go Russ, it is the JT thing all over again for you and a couple of others, he is not a whipping boy, we are just stating that his form is not NRL level, and he needs to fix it, he may well do that, but at the moment reggies is his spot.
