Builds character confifdence and belief right throughout

Very happy with both trials at this stage of the year...some players standing out more than.others and that will be fluid all year...but no real stinkers imo.

Good performance. The only negatives I see were we looked light on the middle but that will improve with May coming back. Toa for mine is a worry, his tackling is very poor and always looks unfit

His 3 year contract is mystifying given the club must have known what they had on their hands with Makasini. I suspect we might be telling To’a he’s free to move on before long.

He is a real threat in the red zone and we haven’t had a half like that since coach was running round

Feel like we are gonna have a good year. We have genuine depth in every position. Charlie Murray has been the best forward two weeks in a row.

I honestly feel sorry for Benji. He was in the same spot last year giving Galvin a go and talking him up. This time around, it’s Mekasini. I hope people starting repaying Benji.

Makasini is the real deal. I'm picking him early as Dally M Rookie of the Year.

Understood. But when was the last time you saw a try like that? If he’d just palmed off one or two players, sure. But the Samoan sidestep on Edwards. You don’t see that everyday. Can’t see I’ve seen To’o score a try like that.

Hope as well, even though he knocked on, he looks to be quite crafty.

Our 9 options are really good.

Charlie Murray turned up both weeks too, he's got something to him too. Hopefully he can be our Ray Stone type 9/13 hybrid enforcer we need, off the bench or otherwise.

Seeing a lot comparisons of Makasini to Tuiaki. I get the sentiment, but pleeeeasasseee. The tank was great, but he was not a generational talent. Idc if he’s signed till the end of 28, that’s not long enough. The club needs to extend him beyond 28, yesterday.

If we had Tank and Tuquri on both wings we'd have won the minor premiership in 2010. He was legit and we hadn't seen the best of him yet.

It was impressive no doubt.
It was also a risk that won’t always payoff.
He had Bula inside him who would have easily scored. He looks a better wing prospect than centre currently.
Great to see him in top grade doing that though.
