LIVE game discussion. Tigers Team Vs Penrith - Trial#2

Man, we have a real halves problem.

Madden and Andrews have been really, really good. Then you obviously have Luai, Latu and AD.

How do we hang on to Andrews particularly? Especially whilst keeping Latu happy.

Also - Murray has impressed the crap out of me. Never thought I'd see what he's shown in the trials from him.
good problem to have!

I know it was “only a trial” but everyone trying to tackle Makka were not thinking that at the time. They were genuine efforts and they got smashed.
He is seriously strong, fast and balanced when he runs. I think he will be our best homegrown talent since Chris Lawrence (pre-injury).
If they can all stay fit, that left side will be lethal.

Overall it was a promising match. Our youngsters did well and looked better than our opponents youngsters due the second week in a row. Madden is really shown how much he's grown and in my view he undoubtedly the best halfback at the club. Javon keeps coming up with quality attacking plays which is promising...
Our top squad couldn't quite keep up with theirs for the whole first half, but there's no surprise given their quality. We weren't full strength either though, so overall a promising match and result

He might surpass Chrissy n Benjie's achievements if he sticks around

AD is technically poor as a general play kicker. He does not time his kicks well and hence he strikes the ball badly most of the time and especially when under pressure.
Madden on the other hand is far better at connecting foot to ball and thinks more about where he wants to put the ball.
Pole ran hard today and Hope also dug in. Makasini was great either way the ball but his reads in D are not the best. Hayward has some class about him. Murray tried hard and played well. Twal ran the ball well tonight.
Overall we were good with all our players showing good attitude and effort. Timing in A was off but that’s to be expected. One enjoyable thing was our D was aggressive and we showed intent.

yep hope the defense stays this way all season...keep hitting hard, line speed and dont have as many lapses

Benji said in the coaching insider that due to the bye in rd1 they're still getting flogged at training atm and that the 1st grade players insisted on playing.
You could see the fatigue really set in around the 10 min mark, Api and Bula specifically looked completely gassed.
The fact that we did hang in that first half against a very strong Penrith side (acknowledging they started slow last year) is a good sign for the year and good for the confidence.
Ability won't be the limit this year, it will be belief and if they get some early results anything could happen 🤞

I’ve seen more in three hit outs from Mak than Chris Lawrence’s whole career.

Sorry Lawrence was good until his hip injury then quickly gravitated to the pathetic category. The type of player we kept on because he was a good club man. Reflected the patheticness of the club standards.

This is the New World Order.

Bula was terrible. I’ve been a fan however he did not seem locked in yesterday. Not saying they’re ready, but Attard and especially Andrew’s showed great signs (especially Andrew’s).
