Apologies if it’s already been said on here several times but in my eyes the most important stat out of this game, only 14 missed tackles. Cowboys were rubbish granted but you can only play what is in front of you and having that stat so low is something to be proud of

we were dreadful. A half decent team beats the cows tonight by 40. How you could see the last two weeks as positive is staggering.

Better than two losses. That win felt like getting a pay check when you know you spent most of the time on the toilet.

Unfortunately I didnt see the game as I had to close the club at 5 due to the lockdown...

However just reading through this thread we had a win which to me is great,the young guys got a run and some did well and others are still learning....

I did notice the Madge haters had their usual input and cant give credit where its due in regard the young guys developing got NRL time while the other teams cant play...koe,flegg etc...

Madge will eventually get this team in the finals with a good squad of young players...his main aim has been to get rid of the bad culture we had and develop young skillful talented players...we are on our way..

congrats to the team and coach for getting the 2 points ...well done...

TT, he's only been here three years and the standard of our play is a disgrace.

I’m long patches we looked good and the was a clear plan to what we were doing. We couldn’t keep it up for 80 but you can see the coaching there

Overall my two bobs worth on that game is that we started better than usual and looked a lot more interested in winning than we have in some past games. In the first half we should have scored more points but had to deal with the ref not policing the ruck and also standing 8 meters back for them, plus some really stupid and costly mistakes which halted any momentum. The pitch didn't help either - very slippery that end.
We were slow to start out of the sheds in the second half and lucky that they were also poor. I thought most of our guys played well apart from the usual offenders (TT and Mbye), Noffa was poor and Mikaele average. Liddle was good in the first half but still goes missing at dh too much. Simpkin added some spark and should have been on 10 mins earlier. Blore is improving each game and Tuilagi showed something as well. Uto was our best forward and Luc got involved in a bit more D although his A wasn't as effective has usual.
MCK defended well but is useless in A as a typical centre - needs to make runs out wide like an edge player instead of trying to be a centre. AD was good in some areas of his game but poor in others, however his D was more solid. Brooks played well for the most part but seemed his running game was put off by the slippery surface- his kicking game was 50:50 and the sin bin was an unlucky outcome for some great defence by him.
Shame Laurie is out, (Garner and Seyfarth as well), as with him playing right now instead of Mbye we would be a far better proposition.

I don't agree completely with a couple of points but it's a fair assessment of the game, I think. I do like the defence that MCK brings to the centre spot but I agree his attack is problematic.

The reality is we have managed to beat the stugglers below us (Dogs, Cows, Broncs) but **the gap between the class of WT and the genuine contenders in 2021 is huge.**

But we knew that after the first 5 rounds?

I thought MCK has been pretty good, certainly better than our supposed main centres. At least he tackles.

I enjoyed patches of this game for the first time in a while.

Much improved in support for second phase, although some of the offloads were a bit careless. At least we played footy.

F/A is poor I don't see the 8 as a realistic goal. Seeing the young guys get a bit more experience is what I'm looking forward to.

Wins a win and the forwards are going good, but we are playing the most basic game plan, basically five forward charges and a high ball. Yet we are still turning over possession regularly. Hate to think what would happen if we actually tried to put some plays together.
Defence is still a big issue, we defend well for a while, than it crumbles as soon as a line break occurs, they don’t seem to be able to scramble.

Anyway one class backrower , a class back and a little better depth players and things should be a lot brighter

the gap between the class of WT and the genuine contenders in 2021 is huge.

It's not only WT, the class chasm between the top 5 and the rest is huge, you only need to look at the Parramatta performance yesterday.

Storm, Panthers, Manly, Souths and Roosters are the only chances this year, and I think in that order.

We won but still a lot of negatives from this game.

Thomas Mikaele was terrible. He is a benchie.
Wouldn't hurt for him to slim down and improve fitness. His hands need some work too.

Captaincy? Still a concern. Brooks send off may have saved a try but it also lead to us being 12 on field and a try being scored in the following set. Brooksy has been improved but AD is our leader and should be awarded the (C) he is a real footballer and is the heart of the club currently.

Despite Maumalo and MCK playing really well... our backline is still not good enough. Everyone knows how i feel about Talau but what did Nofo do last night? I saw this pair miss display some really poor defence.

A lot of positives to come from the game however we can't have the good without the bad. The off season and pre season is a lot more important than the next 3 rounds IMO.

Hopefully some smart recruitment and some improvement across the squad, ready to really compete well in 2022.
