**live game feed** vs the Dragons

Thompson played poorly but Zac Lomax - woeful thank God we didn't throw big dollars at him. And if Luciano plays like that every week we have lost nothing from losing Matterson.

I still can't believe they were given a penalty try in the first minute or so. What bollocks that was.

Especially when Doueihi is not then given one when tackled in the air.

Lucky played on par if not better then whatshisname played in the second row last year. Showed aggression too which is good for a change in the back row, havent seen that since Ellis.

Back row of
11. Lucky
12. Garner
13. ET / Aloiai

Very underrated and solid indeed.

Thommo back to the wing Doueihi to FB Jennings back to his KFC bucket

Whilst I agree, Jennings made well over 100m and Thompson was butt ordinary

C’mon mate ..he had one bad half but you’d prefer Jennings ?

I have been very critical of Nofos defence but he had a great game tonight. Thompson was hopeless tonight. On form you would have the wingers as Nofo and Jennings ... who doesn’t make mistakes.

Always respect your opinion ck but....

Nofo and JENNINGS as the wingers???????

Thommo is twice the winger JENNINGS is.

JENNINGS did not have any better game than Thommo.

If you take this Tack - Thommo gave then 2 tries, and JENNINGS bombed 2 tries.

Move Doueihi to FB, Thommo to wing and JENNINGS TO 'Z' grade, where he belongs.

Thompson - 12 points directly

Jennings - *potentially* Four points and much uncertainty surrounding the second... if he reached out with four players hanging off his coat tails and scored we’d all be in awe. He probably didn’t expect to get so close and as I said previous his killer instinct (if it’s alive) has disappeared and think he’s had a rough trot

So, that’s not counting catches made/errors (Jennings wins), tackling and cover attempts ?(pretty even tonight you’d say) - Thompson grabbed daylight when Hunt went through and Norman dropped it. People haven’t counted this potential game changer to his clanger tonight.

Defensive ability and general awareness? Probably the only even category I’d say.

Getting themselves into try scoring positions?

Not truly stifling any attack we produce?

Well... I rest my case

If you insist on simplifying it that much

In fairness to Thompson, it was Garner that missed the initial tackle up the field…he cost us 6 points, but his 2nd half was solid. Both fullbacks had an ugly day and Doueihi also dropped one cold with no pressure, so it wasn’t like he was flawless either.

Did you see that ball pop out of Thomos grip? It was like a cake of soap. I think more balls are required so the official ball washer is not rushed during the rinse cycle.

Doueihi to fullback Thompson to wing next week. Thompson would’ve scored those tries Jennings missed and Doueihi would’ve done better at fullback than Thompson

Thompson doesn’t score either??? Are you joking? Reference for you can be his sitter from dummy half earlier in the 2nd half which killed absolutely all our momentum and literally came down to his size. Jennings dropping that sitter was really unlucky and upsetting for us all at the time - until you see he’s rock solid in the final five VS CT’s good cover efforts’ - is not enough.

His improved fitness and also the fact that HE got into the position to score twice and not Thompson should see reason prevail.

Thompson scores at least one of those tries Jennings missed. Yet to see him not finish a try in a situation like that on the wing. He was average at fullback tonight but on the wing is a brilliant finisher, Jennings should’ve scored.

No chance on the second, refer to previous posts with Geo, definitely would’ve scored the first as would’ve Jennings if it wasn’t so greasy.

Thompson directly cost us twelve points man... what’s so hard to wrap your head around?

Yeah like I said he didn’t do good at fullback but he’s still a much better winger than Jennings - has never played a bad game there and has never bombed a try there like Jennings did. He’s a great finisher. It’s good to have competition for spots

No, he dropped that through his own fumbling, not just because it was wet. He was too worried about jinking and dodging and not giving sufficient respect to ball control/security. He could have just tucked it in two arms and ran it up, but he was too busy darting about.

"Cake of soap" I reserve for those instance where you have the ball reasonably tied down, but it still pops out anyway when in heavy contact. There's no justification to drop a wet football when you aren't in contact.

Anyway, you are right. Garner missed initially but was solid after that and Adam, great 2nd half. Jennings only made one error including tackling yesterday and that was the try that didn’t cost us.

Corey’s all heart but any other fullback in the league is doing what he did in chasing Frizell x2. That’s not anything to be considered for!

A few are being a bit hash on Aloiai. He was one of our best if not out best forward out there tonight. 187m from 15 runs, 19 tackles 0 missed is huge from him. Every run he had, he ran with venom and anger. Hit solid in defence. We have a pack of enforcers, not just an enforcer. Good signs for the future. Definitely a great foundation to build off of for years to come.

Absolutely! I'll need to watch a replay but watching live he was doing a heap of dirty work. Not his usual impact style of playing but hopefully he's on his way to being a quality high minute middle player.

Certainly got a point from me in the 3-2-1 behind Benji (game management, goal kicking, assists) and Nofo who was just massive last night.

Musgrove needs all the game time he can get. Should have got a second stint.

First game in like two years think Madge didn’t want to rush him back especially considering Twal and Aloiai can both play big minutes. Hopefully next week Musgrove plays more he is very very good

Late response but plenty of good signs in a rusty first performance. I love the look of our pack. Aloia, Mikaele, Musgrove & Twal were enormous against a good pack. Benji was great. LL adds something new. Nofo was great. I thought Walters was good.

Doueihi MUST be fullback, I want Reynolds out of the team, his stupid "high energy" schtick (always run, no passing game, no vision) is humorous but stifles our attack, probably cost us two tries yesterday. Madge talked Reynolds up so Ill be disappoint probably.

For mine, if we got Grant, I'd dump Reynolds and slot Walters at 6.

I thought the penalty try was very iffy, the ball was bouncing at right angles, no way the winger can stop on a dime and grab that.....penalty at worse....stupid horse head

There were about 3 Dragons tries that were botched where the lead up had nothing to do with Thompson. The truth is, we got lucky and we have a lot to work on across the park.

In the penalty try, the ball took a turn away from Thompson towards their winger and no player was getting there. Freak moment and they happen. The dropped ball though was poor and directly cost us points. I can't agree on the penalty try though.

Our blown tries were 50/50 in my opinion and weren't as clear cut as dropping the ball with the line wide open (even the Jennings one, he may have been bundled into touch).

We had sustained attack on their line for most of the 2nd half and couldn't crack them. Lots of work to do across the team and I wouldn't be blaming one player for the overall shortcomings. While there were some good signs, attack and defence need lots of work.

I would move Doueihi into the halves and leave Thompson at fullback. Thomo didn't have a great game, but his performance was an exception and not the rule.

If AD is Marshall's incumbent in 2021 then I'd like to see what he's got.

JRey to the bench or left right out.
