I have been very critical of Nofos defence but he had a great game tonight. Thompson was hopeless tonight. On form you would have the wingers as Nofo and Jennings ... who doesn’t make mistakes.

Jennings - *potentially* Four points and much uncertainty surrounding the second... if he reached out with four players hanging off his coat tails and scored we’d all be in awe. He probably didn’t expect to get so close and as I said previous his killer instinct (if it’s alive) has disappeared and think he’s had a rough trot

So, that’s not counting catches made/errors (Jennings wins), tackling and cover attempts ?(pretty even tonight you’d say) - Thompson grabbed daylight when Hunt went through and Norman dropped it. People haven’t counted this potential game changer to his clanger tonight.

Defensive ability and general awareness? Probably the only even category I’d say.

Getting themselves into try scoring positions?

Not truly stifling any attack we produce?

But I reckon Doueihi makes that chase and definitely doesn’t give away a penalty try.

Our blown tries were 50/50 in my opinion and weren't as clear cut as dropping the ball with the line wide open (even the Jennings one, he may have been bundled into touch).

We had sustained attack on their line for most of the 2nd half and couldn't crack them. Lots of work to do across the team and I wouldn't be blaming one player for the overall shortcomings. While there were some good signs, attack and defence need lots of work.

We both disagree about the penalty try but it was still Corey who couldn’t clean up. Jennings effort on the other side to a similar kick in the first half led to Ravalawa’s missing majority of the game. That’s what I call sufficient effort, to get back deep and bat it dead over any consequence...

Thompson couldn’t even turn past the player or compete fairly due to natural lack of size.

Pretty clear cut situations for you and I to observe - I actually forgive Corey’s dropped ball and of course were clearly on the same page here - in that our fullback didn’t do HIS job.

I’ve never sought to “be blaming one player for the overall shortcomings” and almost definitely believe Doueihi has C.T covered and our young juniors or even Momi could replace Jennings.

Sure the game was scrappy and we got away with that win, but we're still forming combinations and losing Brooks 24 hours before kickoff was a huge blow.

What I will say is that Walters was excellent. If the Grant / Momo swap doesn't happen I see BW owning the hooking role.

In fact, give Benji a lot of credit for those scrambles and covering BJ’s lack of fitness.

Thompson was also directly responsible for missing a tackle in the defensive line and getting thin air that Norman subsequently dropped. Hunt of all people and the first that nearly cost us IIRC?

So, really, you have no argument here...

Cause all of the examples I’m trying to put forward to you aren’t being debated plus; the entire catalogue of his mistakes are visible on replay now. He’ll cost us again. Mark my words

100%. He was safe as houses on the wing and worked well in defence too. Thompson even missed 1v1 tackles on the front line and also bombed, basically, a sitter from DH.

At the time I remembered to make a point of it because it killed any momentum we had completely and coincided with the Dragons nearly pulling it out of the fire. He’s useless...

Adam was solid in his opportunities with supporting 2nd row/centre/wings. As far as I and I’m sure few of the staff (knowing Corey coughed up 12 alone) go - there’s no room for both.

I think it’s cause Jennings is 23 and Thommo is 30. Also I thought Jennings played well today . He messed up 1 try , with it bucketing down . Thommo was so bad , a spell in reserve grade is his only option sorry . That was inexcusable.

Garner also allowed his opposite in Sims to dominate his half for most of the game without as much as a whimper, which I found very disappointing as well. Sure, he missed Brooks, but that doesn't stop him from at least attempting to protect his teammate alongside, as even the quiet Lawrence would.

Should’ve been a sin bin at least it’s a penalty in a try scoring situation. Overall a stupid rule too easily abused, the defender has no choice but to tackle Doueihi there

Should it have been a penalty try? The Douehi one?

Should’ve been a sin bin at least it’s a penalty in a try scoring situation. Overall a stupid rule too easily abused, the defender has no choice but to tackle Doueihi there

I agree, they've made a grey area for no reason. I would have thought it had to be a penalty try. the bloke who made the illegal tackle was the bloke who held him up.

Did anyone see STEFANO in Parramatta CC game WOW what a prospect

what i learnt was first half they were spreading the ball from side to side in attack and playing far too lateral.

Second half they controlled the ruck and punched through the middle. The backs backed the forwards and from memory most of the second half tries were near the middle.

I hope they learn from that.
