10 in the bin. weak
You guys think we are inconsistent
Proctor doesn't get binned
Heatherington gets set off
Sivo get 10 minutes in the bin.
All head high tackles - all get ajudicated differently for the same offence.
The Referees are a joke, the bunker is a joke, because they are the referees as well.
Unfortunately the game is turning into a joke.
What do we do about it Russ. All when do is stop watching
That is the problem Tony - if only everyone could stop going/watching for a month - they would change, but that won't happen of course. The teams that don't get rorted (their supporters) wouldn't join anyway. Only thing left is email/write to V'Landys/Abdo and complain about the anomalies - won't happen either.
I guess fans put up with it until they have had enough and then give the game away.
50% of the people watching are always going to be happy. That’s why you won’t get a mass exodus. If we were on the right side of the penalty count and six agains we’d probably be happy right now
Not really, the current rules are a real turn off. I’d take a win, but the games would still be rubbish.
Would prefer the wrestle we used to have?
I think that now we've tried out the 6-again, it may be yes that people preferred the wrestle. At least you can say you've tried both.
You would think with the 2020 6-again, which seemed reasonably successful, they could just pair-back what they give 6-agains for, or make them 3-agains or something less brutal.
My maths may be a little rusty, but how is 3 again an option? I think the underlying motive for the 6 again is to modify the behaviour of players when dealing with refs. To promote authority of refs.
Correct, a 3 again early on in the set wouldn't even get you 1 extra tackle.
I think he means adding on 3 extra tackles to the set which I think would be a better option.
So an infringement on the first tackle you get 3 again so it becomes a 9 tackle set instead of a seven?
Yes, so any infringement makes it a 9 tackle set instead of being determined by how far in the set you are, I suggested it somewhere on here earlier today. Makes the penalties more conisistent.
The more I think about it the more interesting it would be.
For example the first-tackle 6-agains that teams don't mind giving away, they would become 9 tackle sets instead of 7, so a bigger penalty. Indiscretions on tackle 3 would be the same either way - 6-again or extended to 9. Late-set missteps would be a lesser penalty, e.g. being called on tackle 5 would result in 4 tackles left rather than 6.
Nah
It’ll just compound what is already a mess ..
The games already in disarray why make it worse ?
Oh so the current setup is working to your satisfaction?
Yes it might be a bit confusing to police.
Did I say the 6 again is working to my satisfaction?
I’ve hated the 6 again from day one !
Adding an additional 3 plays would be adding to the mess !
The games a complete ? show imo
I’d rather the knobs that run the show have kept onto penalising the wrestle as they set out to do at the start ..
I’ve never followed a code that has bastardised the rules so MUCH as this code .
It’s a farce
You clearly don't follow Union or football?
I think the point is - if they introduced 6-again for a specific reason, and that reason was based heavily in fan reaction to the style of football being played, removing the 6-again just takes us back to where we were. And if the new 6-again is not working, there may be a compromise position.
For the record: I have no qualms if they remove the 6-again rule, I was never particularly upset about "the wrestle" in the first place. I preferred tough tight games of football than this touch-football style we have. I think high-scoring affairs can become a bit of a farce.
Football / soccer yes I follow
Union ..no
As I said if they’d have policed the wrestle from the start with all the penalties they were dishing out and they didn’t succumb to the media we wouldn’t be in this mess now .
Games a shit show atm
I for one hated that stupid penalty-a-thon when they tried to penalise wrestling out of the game. What did they get, some 35 penalties in one Sharks match? Worse than anything I've seen with the 6-agains or sin bins.
You don't get a player's attention with a penalty, they just dust off and reset for another defensive set. You get some attention with 6-again because they start to get knackered. You get A LOT of attention with a sin bin.
Football bastardises rules as bad as anything NRL has done - VAR has been horrendous, it took them a million years to get goal-line technology and they use a dubious line-drawing mechanism in the Premier League for offsides. All that for what is supposed to be a very simple game.
Still not as bad as what’s happened to the NRL ..
It’s become a joke ..
Well you can have your opinion mate. I for one find football reffing to be very hard to tolerate, and they spend an awful amount of time talking about it, esp. penalties and handballs. And in a game won by small score margins.
Union is the worst globally. It all really depends how many rules you have and how difficult it is physically to police them.
