Oh well….the effort was there. Benji is so good at times, and so bad others. After all his years I don't understand why he can't steer a team to a victory when leading.

At least it puts an end to the Brooks for origin debate. He was poor when Benji went off and when it counted down the stretch gave a poor 7 tackle set with a ridiculously long kick and then died with it on the last when a repeat set would ha e seen us home.

Even when Godinet plays a decent game he still costs us. To run on the 4th under the posts then get tangled up in the play the ball and give a penalty….well that's classic Godinet.

Newcastle embarrassed us physically

sure did, and showed all other teams how to limit wests tigers. :imp:

time to re-focus and prepare well for next game now.

It was a tough game in the forwards, and we did very well to stay in it apart from the Pearce try. Our problem was a winger who has no idea how to position himself!

Seriously, Brooks rolls that in and repeat set and we win

Don't want to be too critical of Brooks but he needed to be more positive and have a shot at them there.
Hopefully we learned a lesson today.

Good teams do not need a wake up call and they overcome bad refereeing.

How people expected us to flog Newcastle I don't know - what have we won against them 1 out of the last 7.

Hopefully get it together for next week and with Nofo in ISP.

Brooks should not be picked on tonight. Sure, he didn't play to the standard of last week but he was solid and was playing behind a beaten pack. If anyone should be singled out it is Nofo. If he'd read the play correctly in just one of his opposite's three tries, we win. Rarely have I seen such a defensively challenged winger.

I’m not sure he’ll ever learn either, what he gives us with his tough carries are not worth the rubbish he dishes up in defence

We still do not have any maturity in the team to close a game down. 5 min to go should have been curtains …. but do we got head strong ... I wonder about Godinet and Nofo but they weren't the only ones. We now know that teams will target Nofo.

What I found disturbing was that when we had the momentum we just threw it away with stupid mistakes and stupid decisions.

Our real problem tonight was that we couldn't stop the quick play the balls and momentum of the Knights forwards. They constantly made easy metres which gave time and space to Ponga and the halves. It was easily our worst defensive display.
