Live game thread round 4

It's these sorts of losses which will cost us a finals berth once again.

That game tonight was for all the clowns running this basket case of a club that wanted Maguire instead of Bennett

Deja vu, Deja vu, Deja vu, Deja vu.
Who can say they had confidence in Wests Tigers when it went to extra time? Not me!

I'm so over following WT. Every chance we get to show we are moving on we slip right back to where we've been for the past 10 years which is a bottom 8 side. We knew we didn't have a goal kicker at the end of 2018 and did nothing about it. We are at least 5 or 6 good players short of a top 8 side and nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise. We have a good coach but just don't have the cattle. I can see two losses coming up with the Broncos and Eels which will see us 2 and 4 after being 2 and 0\. From there the season will fall away with the odd surprise win but more losses than wins. This year we are bottom 4 and probably bottom 2\. After 60 years of following Wests and then WT I'm calling it a day. To all you faithful fans on the forum I really hope I'm proved wrong but I'm afraid it's in our DNA.

Golden point is one of the biggest blights on a game that has so many. Maybe this is coming from a Tigers supporter, but golden point is a huge dud rule. It simply should not exist.

I know many are saying Marsters must be the best kicking option if he is the one kicking. I can see that. But the fact is, he will never be a good kicker. Anyone who strikes the ball high with a curve is never consistent. The consistent kickers have a lower trajectory. The high curve never works. Latrell Mitchel can kick some great goal because he's such a natural, but consistantly he sucks for the same reason Esarn does.

I think Mybe kicked the early part of 2018 at 78%. While overall his percentage isn't great, his latest efforts reflect that of a decent low trajectory kicker. It's an obvious choice IMO.

On Brooks. Well as one of his biggest supporters, I have to say he let us down tonight. He allowed his opposite to close out a gme he should have closed out with 13 minutes to go.

We could have Norm Provan, Clive Churchill, Jack Gibson and Wayne Bennett combined into one entity and still get the same result. We’re cursed. It’s the only logical explanation.

Coaches come and go, players change, the jerseys get updated. Yet in 30 years time we’ll still be failing to close out close games, looking for someone with a goal kicking % over 80, losing our 57th golden point game and finishing one place out of the top 15…

New year same west’s. Between the team and this new forum, I think it’s time I take a walk outside. Good luck to you all. its been a trip.

The difference is that Penrith have a few higher levels that they can to go to, I don’t think that we have that luxury, at least not as many as we need to be competitive with even the middle standard teams,.
It doesn’t seem to matter who the Coach is, we’re still the same old team

As if watching was not bad enough my Foxtel box broke so for commentary I had Freddy's Fellatio Fest on Nein.

We didn't deserve to lose?
I bet the players think that, and that's the problem.
Ever heard of, To the Victors go the spoils?
We lost and deserved to lose. Tough gig for Maguire.
