Lolohea at fullback 2018

Pretty much everyone has summed it up well here. Firstly, you can see playing consistent FG has resulted in his match fitness improving. Secondly his confidence is also improving, he's taking on the line more and is starting to show some pretty good footwork. I think he's still got another gear to find and I think he will go well at the back. While he may lack Tedesco's speed/acceleration, he's no slouch and his footwork is also very good, so I don't think we will lose out as much as some people think we may.

He's got a bit of ballplaying ability so having him chime in on either side of the field with Brooks/Reynolds will be a positive.

What if this is Lolohea's full fitness…?

Just because you are carrying some extra weight it doesn't mean you aren't fit when it comes to your sport. I don't think his fitness is the problem.

I think we need Lolohea to turn into a really really good player at fullback next year. We are going to lose a lot with Tedesco leaving. I think Tui has the ability to be great next year but he is going to have to do a lot of work on his game.

We will have to wait and see if he is up to it. There is a difference between looking really sharp and skillful which he does and being a quality first grade fullback on a consistent basis.

I agree Willow. Actually, his speed off the mark has seen him poke his nose through the line a couple of times. Just a little more fitness and he could be getting right through. His passing game is obviously superior to Tedesco's (who doesn't have one at all) and his versatility is certainly a positive. Whether his positional play will be the equal of Teddys, I don't know. But I'm looking forward to seeing him at the back.

Agree with most comments on here about Tui apart from those suggesting he could cover the halves if injury occurs, I think that is what has caused the kids problems in the past by not giving him time to stay in the one position.

I am hoping if injuries occur in the halves that we see young Tyson Gamble given a shot to come in and cover thus leaving Tui at the back to learn and develop his trade.

He looked dangerous yesterday every time he had the ball in hand, and just seems to be getting better and better each week. I'm loving this purchase, as IMHO I think he's come on already better than I though he would.

I had Titans fans sitting around me who didn't know who he was, and when they found out we plucked him out of the Warriors Reserves they were blown away.

He has grown immensely since his time at the Warriors, goes to show what having a full-time FG spot does to a player. He wouldn't have put into training and his diet at the Warriors like he has here.
Can't wait to see him after an off season under IC.

Also being wanted not just pushed to every position in the team then to Reggies.

Actually we saved a lot most probably about $700k a year.

Im not sure if he has the pace at distance for FB…he seems quick over a very short distance then the anchors drop

Hope so Earl…just seems everyone is saying ..when he gets fit..

The modern fullback covers the most ground in both attack/defense..returning the football..than any other player on the field...

Im with you
He has progressed well..After seeing his first 2 games i thought it might have taken a bit longer but he is looking really confident already.
My wife said he reminds her of Benji and when he threw that long cut out pass that was called forward it did have shades of Benji

Im not sure if i want him at Fullback or in the halves, but im sure with Teddy gone there wont be anyone else to fill his shoes other than Lolo

The other guys can do he job (Nofo and Kevvy) but they are too plain to be classy fullbacks

now don't shoot me down but there were a few times yesterday i thought Tui's running/darting/stepping style was almost…almost...teddy-esque

i have a feeling he will do quite nicely at FB.... 😛ray:

I would like to see what he can do with bit of space available at fullback.
If he is the only available option (next year) than we may need to see how he goes before we put all our eggs in one basket.

I suppose Noffa, (if we get him) Rona and (if he stays) Naiguama would be the other options.

People seem to have forgotten how highly Lolohea was touted. I know highlights don't give you the full picture, and that they've been posted half a million times before but, I really think this gives a good indication of how good he can be.

I can guarantee he is a better fB than those three now. Fail to see why a lot of people have reservations.

I can see him being a top notch fullback for years to come. I'm kinda glad we didn't get Watson.

Just have a look at Swag's video of Lolohea and then tell me we are not on a winner or you have no confidence in him!

Kid has the goods!!!
