Lolohea off the bus - Official

He was in reserve grade at the Warriors for a reason when we signed him.

Did ok as a fat bloke with no pressure or expectation in a bad side last year throwing the ball around and looking good at times.

Saw shots of him in March and wasn't excited one bit. Couldn't hack it this year with more competition and hungrier players around.

No surprise really.

Freeing up money is good idea at this stage of the season will allow us to make moves on players coming off contract for next season. I think we'd have to win 7 of 8 remaining games (??) and then the rely on other teams losing to make the 8.

Lolohea, to join Grant, MWZ, and Kev leaving, (and possibly more) free's up some coin .. like everyone has said, hopefully some good recruits this time.

I'm expecting Sue, Godinet, McQueen, Farah and Marshall all to be on that bye bye list and therefor freeing up spare coin for next season.

Why are you expecting McQueen to be punted? He’s contracted for 2 more years.

Because he can't even complete a training session let alone a game .. lasted 20 minutes in the top grade last game, and wasn't seen again .. sorry NOT required. Hopefully he will decide to pull the pin on his career himself at the end of the season.

We’re letting quite a few go in the last week. Grant, MWZ, Tui and a pretty reliable soucrce says Sue is gone too. When are we signing some replacements?

No one worthy wants to come here…..

No loss IMO - plus he is/was on decent coin, so it gives us a bit more cap space to chase someone decent.

Spot on Willow, but some on here rated this bloke a future star, were all over me for saying he should stay in ISP, he showed absolutely nothing this year after being handed the number 1 jumper he wanted.

Ok guys I am announcing my return out of retirement after 15 years, I promise my knee issues are all good so no problem with a 4 year contract.

I thought that he went okay at 5/8 last year, but definitely not a #1 should have had a zero after the 1.

Another great signing under the current regime. How much are we contributing?

Why would we contribute anything?/

Because he has a contract with us and is entitled to the full amount of that contract. If the English club is not matching that, we have to pay the difference.

Much like we are paying Sironen now, the dogs are paying Mbye and we paid 700k of Robbie’s salary last year

Happy of course Ivan is identifying players aren't the right fit for the club

Just hope the replacements are step forwards as far as talent and commitment is concerned

Not a step sideways with a hope and a prayer connected to the new recruits

JT organised the Farah and Sironen deals, another kick in the nuts for us before he was evicted
But Tui may have requseted a release after realising he is going to spend next year in ISP, so then it would cost us zero

Is that after he brings them here for a test drive on a 3 year contract.

Either he has no talent and was a bad signing, or
He ha talent but the coach cannot motivate him, or
He has talent combined with work ethic problems which would have been identified with diligence checks. Bad signing, or
He has an injury which limits his output (not enough for career ending retirement) meaning he is not up to 1st grade.

3 of the 4 options above are bad news for the club

True but he would have asked a lot of questions

Every club has dud recruitment from time to time

Jack Bird at Brisbane , how much did they pay for him for example

Foran at two clubs now

Yes we have had way too many , but retention has been a major issue , we have let go some absolute gems that would be making our life far ,far easier

That’s all well and good, but what if he doesn’t decide to pull the pin, which I would say is a 99.9% chance of happening.

Then what happens?
Offload him?
To who?
Whose gonna take him?
Wishful thinking.

Tui owes me 6 months of my life which I held so much anticipation and sheer excitement over the off season … I had high hopes for this guy at fullback with an offseason under Cleary and Hodgson. I defended him so many times on this forum, however I now despite him for his laziness, lack of interest and obvious post midnight food binges which have transformed his body into a medicine ball.
When he let Gallen drop to the try line at his feet after several team mates were holding Gallen up was the last straw for me!!! All his mates needed was for Tui to look interested and Gallen would have relented in the tackle. Instead the lazy piece of crap stood there and watch it all unfold mere centimetres from his fingertips - the turning point in the game which we had at our mercy.
Even at 5/8 he spent most of the time disjointing the backline by running sideways but we knew he had the talent but mentally he is still a part timer.
With the acquisition of some old Warriors teammates this year (Matulino, Packer, Taylor) he could not have died of loneliness but it sure damned seemed that way.
You can leed a horse to water but you can’t make it drink!
Ivan must be totally embarrassed now after courting Tui so aggressively last year, however Ivan wasn’t to know that Tui had lost his soul since the halcyon days at the Warriors.
If the Tigers are smart we will only release him to sign with a Super League club as we will surely have to pay freight to any NRL club vultures that will take him off our hands.
See ya Later Alligator!

x2

(apparently if he goes overseas to the superleague ,
we dont pay him anything for the last year of his current contract.)

Let too many good ones go and replaced them with lesser quality. And our juniors - is there any?

Ones coming through? Must admit I have lost touch of late of any good young prospects. Do we have any, other than Liddle that look like they will transition to FG anytime soon?
