Lolohea off the bus - Official

Why are some people firing up about signing Tui last year? He did alright and we were super low on spine stocks when Slimey Fart decided to pike it. Who were we going to play at 5/8th instead last year? Aaron Woods?

Tui almost dropped Rd 1 for his fitness, met his KPIs, given first crack at FB and due to combination of injury and form hasn't managed to cement that spot.

Tigers identified and signed a superior option and are now allowing the player to explore his options.

I find this to be well handled all around, just a shame Tui could not maintain the form we all saw he was sometimes capable of achieving.

A real shame that for whatever reason it hasn’t clicked for him with us. Talent to burn, but a player who lacks the commitment to show it off. If you put Corey Thompson’s heart in Tui’s chest, he’d be unstoppable.

Another great signing under the current regime. How much are we contributing?

What makes you think we are contributing anything? He has asked for a release so I would assume that we won't be contributing anything.
Not all signings work out. Tui didn't. It's great we are able to offload him and make room for someone else. I don't really see the problem.

Shame he never lived up to his potential. I don't think he was a fullback though, ever really only showed his potential at five eighth.

I agree
Tui, Kev, Grant…think im missing one...hopefully we replace them with much better recruits

We’re letting quite a few go in the last week. Grant, MWZ, Tui and a pretty reliable soucrce says Sue is gone too. When are we signing some replacements?

Agree. Tui was good at 5/8 last year. The RLWC meant he missed basically the entire pre season which he never recovered from, however I think its pretty obvious he isnt a 1\. Personally would have kept him around to play as a backup 6 for next year. Lets be serious, we know we'll need one.

No loss IMO - plus he is/was on decent coin, so it gives us a bit more cap space to chase someone decent.

It's true. He's been in talks with Wigan, Leeds and Castleford. I expect one of those three will have snared him.

Towards the end of this video - but looks pretty happy at the holiday clinic today.

Freeing up money is good idea at this stage of the season will allow us to make moves on players coming off contract for next season. I think we'd have to win 7 of 8 remaining games (??) and then the rely on other teams losing to make the 8.

Lolohea, to join Grant, MWZ, and Kev leaving, (and possibly more) free's up some coin .. like everyone has said, hopefully some good recruits this time.

I'm expecting Sue, Godinet, McQueen, Farah and Marshall all to be on that bye bye list and therefor freeing up spare coin for next season.

What a fall from grace. In 2017 he played some awesome footy for us but his spark was short-lived.

As a former Tigers coach once said "players are like used cars, you're usually just buying someone else's problem".

He played awesome footy! I must have blinked and missed it …absolute passenger on ivans bus to nowhere....Grant Malaki and now lolohea with hopefully more to come....hope he has some decent replacments in his plans

Why are you expecting McQueen to be punted? He’s contracted for 2 more years.

His no big loss really but it's a real shame that he hasn't got that drive within him to be a great player on a consistent level , he showed oodles of it earlier in his Career at the Warriors .

I ask myself the same question about Curtis Sironen who has been gone for 2 years yet we supposedly are…Sironen also requested a release...

Anyway didn't work out with Lolohea if true..thought he played well at 5/8 last year..trying to manufacture him as a fullback didn't work ...good Luck in the Super League should do well over there..

Tui owes me 6 months of my life which I held so much anticipation and sheer excitement over the off season … I had high hopes for this guy at fullback with an offseason under Cleary and Hodgson. I defended him so many times on this forum, however I now despite him for his laziness, lack of interest and obvious post midnight food binges which have transformed his body into a medicine ball.
When he let Gallen drop to the try line at his feet after several team mates were holding Gallen up was the last straw for me!!! All his mates needed was for Tui to look interested and Gallen would have relented in the tackle. Instead the lazy piece of crap stood there and watch it all unfold mere centimetres from his fingertips - the turning point in the game which we had at our mercy.
Even at 5/8 he spent most of the time disjointing the backline by running sideways but we knew he had the talent but mentally he is still a part timer.
With the acquisition of some old Warriors teammates this year (Matulino, Packer, Taylor) he could not have died of loneliness but it sure damned seemed that way.
You can leed a horse to water but you can’t make it drink!
Ivan must be totally embarrassed now after courting Tui so aggressively last year, however Ivan wasn’t to know that Tui had lost his soul since the halcyon days at the Warriors.
If the Tigers are smart we will only release him to sign with a Super League club as we will surely have to pay freight to any NRL club vultures that will take him off our hands.
See ya Later Alligator!

He always looked like lost lamb to me. He wants to play in the
Iine but doesn’t possess the passing game for that and at fullback he didn’t have the motor and was often found out of position.

I think he has the atttributes to be a very good centre. Runs a good line, can beat a man one-on-one with footwork and can position his outside man. Whether he was good enough defensively in terms of decision making we will never know.

Hope he finds a home in the UK and becomes a success.
