Looking forward...2015

I'm a bit of a realist…and sadly I'm of the belief that 99% certain we will not make the playoffs this year...so moving forward here is a list of things I'd like to see changed for 2015...I'm working on the assumption that Potter will not have his contract extended...

1\. I would like to see the Tigers go for Neil Henry as our coach. Offer him a 2 year deal.
Henry is proven excellent tactician and I believe he has a very good demeanour with players. He would be the right sort of Coach to bring on the team to the next level.

2\. We need some real good assistant coaches...therefore I see no place for Payten and Kidwell.
We need a defensive coach who can teach the boys how to defend for 80 minutes and a halves/attcking coach to tutor our young halves in Brooks and Mosses on how to set-up and then execute our attack especially in the attacking 20m zone....too often this year I felt we were winging it relying on some brilliance from Brooks or Farah to score points.
3\. We need to overhaul our strenghth and conditioning/rehab team. It is no coincidence that we are the worst hit team with injuries for 3 years running...Clearly the WT are not doing something right in this area....we need a much more professional set-up in this area be it staff, equipment and methods....Time for the jobs for the boys to be put to one side.
4\. We need a new CEO and Board...We all know the Board is coming and the sooner the better...This way decisions can be made that are unbiased and for the good of the WESTS TIGERS. Mayer is not a top shelf CEO....and he has done his time...we need a CEO who has a proven track record in administering a sporting team at the highest level...time to raise the bar in our front office to a level it has never seen.
5\. We need a new captain...Robbie has been there too long in my opinion. We need a frsh leader of the playing group and for mine I'd give that role to Lawrence and Woods to share...I think the added responsibility will help Lawrence raise his game to the level it should be....and with Woods I see him being our captain for years to come as he matures a bit more...IMO Robbie can focus on playing football rather than having the other duties bestowed upon him...Hook did it to Thaiday...our next coach should do it to Farah.
6\. Players: We should let go the plodders in our current team(we all know who they are) and recruit a strike centre and winger to compliment the current team.. With a proper off season I see our future halves as Brooks and Mosses, throw in Teddy and a strike centre and winger and the back line will sizzle....we really stuffed up by letting Koro go....as he is a weapon...just what we needed...who ever made that decision should loose their job on that poor decision alone.

If we could implement the above wow what a season 2015 would be!...there is that IF word again!....oh well....it was a pleasant thought typing it out..

It is nice to read a well-thought out plan for the business (Club) for next year and it has a lot of merit
If you are a student of the Forum comments, it is obvious that the Club is in turmoil. We are all aware of the lack of leadership from the board, which appears to do nothing to fix the turmoil.
In Company law, the board of directors, including the general manager or CEO (chief executive officer), has very defined roles and responsibilities within the business organization. Essentially it is the role of the board of directors to hire the CEO or general manager of the business and assess the overall direction and strategy of the business. The CEO or general manager is responsible for hiring all of the other employees and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the business.
Problems usually arise when these guidelines are not followed. **Conflict occurs when the directors begin to meddle in the day-to-day operation of the business**. Conversely, management is not responsible for the **overall policy decisions of the business**.
If the NRL continue to dither with the appointment of the new, and hopefully, competent seven-person board, it will be too late for the board to do anything to get the house in order before next season.

Some good points but its not all going to happen.

I want to see a backline that can score points and a forward pack that goes forward and is disciplined.

Some of our first team players to me that should be on the outer:- Richards (too slow) & Gavet (too many errors), Austin as a starting half & possibly Lawrence.

Players that we should be basing our team around:- Brooks, Moses, Tedesco, Farah, Woods & Blair.

Players that we definitely need:- Nofo, Simona, Ava & Taupau.

Just pick a coach for the next 2 years but if Potter is the guy who picked Richards over Koro I'd be inclined to get rid of him. We need a coach who can pick a team that can win the comp not plod through wins.

You better be good for the remainder of the year, that's a big Xmas list for Santa.

And someone better dump a heap of cash into the joint

If you want a top line CEO ( no offence to Mayer but its his first appointment into a CEO role ) and everything else on the list a few of us better win Powerball in the next few months

Disagree on Kidwell though ,I'd keep him myself

Dear Santa
Michael Hagan
Steve Folkes
Jason Taylor
Any or all as assistant coaches would be outstanding.

My take:

People we do not want around WT - the current members of our board inc. CEO;

Coach - keep MP for another 2 years,

Our foundation players - must keep: A Woods, Farah, Tedesco, Brooks, Moses, Simona, Nofoaluma, De Martin, Cherington, Milone, Lodge, Graham

Good club players: Galloway, Blair, Sue, Seumanufagai, Santi, Austin, Taupau, Richards, Akauola, Jordan Grant, Hytchcox, Thompson, Liolevave, Funaki, Weelhouse, Save, Satterwaite, Hoeter, M Woods, Fine,

May keep: Gavet, Sironen, Taukafa, N Brown, Fiagatusa, Vela, Stevens

May leave: Rowe, Butchanan, Luani,

'Has been's' players we definitely do not want: Anasta, Lawrence, Lulia, Halatau, Moltzen, C Brown, Patterson, Waters

Go Tigers

well you can take Henry of your wish list has signed for the Titans. As for the rest don't disagree to much , but really what do you think we will get, not much is my believe.

1\. **Neil Henry as coach:** He will take over at the Titans

2\. **We need some real good assistant coaches:** What's Steve Folkes doing nowadays?

3\. **We need to overhaul our strenghth and conditioning/rehab team:** Search "coachkeegan" on Instagram. He's Brian Smith's kid and is the S&C coach at the Roosters. That's the kind of guy we need, but of course, we don't have the money for facilities like the Roo$ters do

4\. **We need a new CEO and Board:** Mayer has done great things for the club and is passionate about improving us. A settled board would make everyone's lives easier. It's taken way too long.

5\. **We need a new captain:** Won't happen. You take the C off Farah and he'll be out the door

6\. **Players - recruit a strike centre and winger:** There aren't any available

Folkes is coaching the National Women's side Alex

It all comes down to cattle and injuries, its that simple. Forget the board, forget the coach and forget the CEO, if your squad gets destroyed by injuries your neville no chance and if you are hamstrung by contracts to existing players that you would like to move on it also makes it very hard.

Dont get me wrong serious changes need to made right across the operation, but they will amount to little if we keep getting hammered by the injury god.

2015 like every other year gets my blood pumping, but I have reservations we will see a big charge up the ladder. Just to many plodders mixed in with the quality players for my liking. My tip 2016 will be the year we will know if their are glory days ahead
