6 pages later… Looks like the OP got the result they wanted.

Well it created discussion, but at the end of the day it still didn't change anything. Come round 1 next season, we'll all (well i assume we will all) be supporting the Wests Tigers.

All the merger showed was that Balmain was soft.
Im a balmain supporter and always will be. That was my team.
We finished with all we needed to remain a single identity but decided to merge while Souths showed real "heart" and sat out a season and for that reason they have a team with history to be proud of.
While we have a merged team with no history.
All good if your a Wests Tigers supporter thats at an age where you never supported Balmain or Wests but i look back and wonder why i didn't scrap it all and jump ship to Souths (who my dad supports) as they showed what they stand for and are to be admired for what they did. They didnt take the easy option like us.

Because we are wests tigers . First season 2000 , premiership 2005 . Club legends skandalis , hodgo , buckets , senter , galea and many more , some who are still playing . I think it's time we start recognising wests tigers as our team , staring of with heritage round

LOL>…chook gut soaked in tuna oil

Nice try

ur point is that the "Wests Tigers" shouldn't just be called "Tigers" yet you name the thread "loss of magpie"..
hypocritical much?

If you think Souths have standards that are to be admired could I suggest you acquaint yourself with the early history of the game and some of the colorful characters that have attached themselves to the Rabbits over the years. A Balmain supporter contemplating a jump to Souths is akin to a Nun joining Robert Mugabe's band of henchpersons. It's not too late, in fact it would improve the intellect of both supporter groups

Yeh I see them called Balmain several times daily….its a disgrace eh?

Mine's from today.

Youve been hanging on to yours for how long now???

hoping that this is because it was Balmain (leagues or football club) being referenced rather than the WT which is possible, if not, that is very poor journalism. In 2000 it was forgivable as habits are hard to break but not in this day and age.

As Ink (a west man orignally, not that it should matter, but in this case i think strengthens my case) has demonstrated, we are at times referred to as Tigers and others Wests, just like every other club in the league, it should not be seen as slight on the other side of the joint venture.

Yes media do occasionally refer to WT as just Wests… The article i posted was about WT and Benji Marshall's fine for taking too long to convert. It was not Balmain related.

Its articles like this that give me ammunition to prove that media can be careless and ignorant when it comes to distinguishing the two tigers brands...

I suggest you just contact the relevant ignorant media outlet when you see this happen rather than maintain your Balmain conspiracy theory.

Its not a conspiracy or an agenda by anyone.. Its just plain Ignorance…

Count the number of times 'Wests' or 'Wests Tigers' is mentioned n this TV interview...

WTs being called balmain happens once in a blue moon

The image/headline I posted proves the OP is factually incorrect, therefore thread null & void
Thank you linesmen, thank you ballboys
