Played last Wednesday at St Michael's Golf Club for a NSW Waratahs Golf Day…..had an awesome time.
Played with Al Baxter, a 6'3" 115 kg highest capped Wallaby Prop in our team....we won the day with 8 Under.

He and other Waratahs at the luncheon table all said that Lote will be at the Wests Tigers in 2010 after his England stint.....I said I would rather have the 32 year old ,Al there, at the Tigers than Lote....and one of them said(you got to be kidding...Lote will kill it for you guys next year).

Al, even though he has a contract with the Waratahs for next year, said he would really consider the Tigers , if they gave him a call.

Did big Al happen to say when Lortay's stint may finish….March or May?

Get him on the phone.........

The words "Prop" and "Ball Skills" shouldnt be in the same sentance.

Run fast, bend the defensive line to Gain Meters is all that is needed..

Give him a call and stick it to rugby…

Al Baxter is a monstrous & highly intelligent Rugby prop who has all the mobility of the statue of liberty,& the ball skills of ..well…Corey Payne.
Leave Al in the game they play in heaven, for heavens sake

unfortunately the Australian rugby union front row has been dominated by pretty much every pack we've played for the last 10 years.
As scrummaging is irrelevant in league Baxter might do alright in the 13 man game.

i doubt you saw steve roach or arthur beetson play.front rowers with ball skills are something special.any big boofhead can bend the line.blocker and beetson could bend it and put someone else through it.

I think this topic is starting to stray well away from Lote, unless we plan on utilising him as a ball playing prop.

Knowing our coach anything is possible I guess…

Well Bug I have heard a crazy rumour that we are interested in Lote.

I wonder how this will pan out.

I am sure it will cause a buzz

Do we need a bloke who hasn't played Rugby League for 7 years…???

A Winger being one of our top 6 paid players?

Why would such a high profile athlete want to come and play for US......when he can earn triple the money playing on the wing in yawnion......

I wish we kept Gallant.....1/5th of the cost....100% more ticker.....

Bet you also wishes we kept Stuart Flanagan.!

 Nope….Issac De Gois....

He'd give you more value than a 400K........WINGER......

Yeah, ClontarfKid, Al is very intelligent…...he has a degree in Architecture , and works part time for the mob( Cox Richardson) that designed the new Melbourne Storm's Stadium.

He has slowed downed a bit since his heyday, but I would still give him a go....He is one CLASS Act

Ahhh highly intelligent ay??? That rules HIM out.

Tigers should have kept the unsung 2005 HERO Pat Richards. Then we wouldn't be wondering about any ghost wingers signing or not. And Pat is STILL braining them in the UK.

Pat richards has a Irish PASSPORT (typo) if I recall correctly. This means that Wigan were getting an NRL player without having to use up 1 of there foriegn player quota spots.

With the $$$ / Tax laws and the Conversion rate - Its a scenario very few NRL clubs could compete with.
