**Sheens used those words on national TV in a post game sideline interview. Can;t remember what game but it was late in the season.**

Interesting to see the leicester fans. obviously this thread is by different fans to the thread posted a while ago that called lote old and slow?

He used the words 'so called fans in a TV interview'…...don't think so.....could be wrong....

Was it the Dogs game in describing Morris then Buckets I take it all back....

_Sheens is smart enough to know words like that can only alienate fans_

Wouldnt the media man then be smart enough to know this - if it is his own opinion like you think - would only alienate himself from his bosses? He'd be likely sacked.

I don't think journalists interpret what those people say.....most of what they say to journalists has already been written....

I don't think Sheens would pay much attention to the article to be honest and I wish Kul never brought it up now....

Aussie ace Lote Tuqiri could stay on at Leicester Tigers

Leicester Tigers' hopes of keeping hold of Australian Test winger Lote Tuqiri have taken a dramatic U-turn.

I read it as saying he has not made a decision either way, since Leicester are now keen to find a way to offer him something he will sit down with them to discuss it.

TRexx and yourself seem so sure, why? have you seen a signed contract?

Fair enough Geo.

We should get back on topic.

I think its just a case of Lote knowing where his breads buttered atm…..tell the punters what they wanna hear.

If it were us he were with now and then going over to RU...it'd be no different.
We'd be copping the "Oh I love it here, its professional, the family love it...blah blah"

My take on the Lote "_will he or wont he come_" saga is this.

Neither Lote or Wests can come out and say Lote has already signed, even if in fact he has done so. The NRL would be up in arms and could refuse to register the contract on the grounds that Lote is a contracted Union player (ala Marshall & Japanese Rugby 12mths or so ago). Once Lote becomes a free agent (at the end of the Leicester stint), the NRL would have a tough time to legally refuse contract registration.

Therefore it is both in Wests & Lote's interest to deny any deal has been struck. In fact if it were reported that Lote was on the verge of extending his UK stint or going to French or Japanese or Guatamalan Rugby, then it would serve Lote & Wests well when they eventually announce that a deal has finally been struck between the two. The NRL could claim it as a victory over Union.

From the outside looking in, and going through all the conflicting media & internet reports over the past 3 months, I believe that Lote may have already signed with Wests but neither party wants to antagonise Gallop & the NRL by publicly boasting they worked around a flawed NRL policy. The NRL would be aware of the free agent loop hole and as long as they aren't embarrased publicly through an announcement whilst Lote is still playing Union, then they will let it slide. They know there be little they could do to prevent it given the Sailor/Tahu precedent, and restraint of trade laws.

He'll be with us for sure i reckon. No contract would have been signed, but there would be a handshake deal and I think both parties will honour it. They honoured Fultons. I think he'll be here if not round 1 then very close to it.
Wing, Fullback or centre is the only question now. I also think both Sheens and Lote know where he's going to play. Lote sounds like the type of bloke that would want assurance of a certain position, most likely fullback, but Sheens might ease him in on the wing.

I dunno.
I think we are waaaaaay past that stage.
He can sign with us today as far as I know, he couldve signed with us the second after he signed with Liecester. …no biggie with us, Gallop, anyone...take up his contract with us once his current deal runs out. It happens all the time
What he couldnt do was sign with us and then take up a deal with RU....then come back to us. Cap rorting they see it as. ...and rightly so.

Again, it is really simple but I'll say it anyway. We have not signed Tuqiri simply because at this point it would be a liability. Why sign him now, get all these sponsors commited and then find out he's done an ACL in England?

The second his Rugby stint is over and he is back in OZ, he will be signed.

But maybe the insiders actually know the truth of what's happening, and are not needing to deal with speculation etc…....
