What's new about not naming an entire squad? We had a so called mystery prop coming last year….....
This entire thread is pure speculation.....anything could happen yet.

Hey all…I have just come back from some time at Camp Concord and spoke with a few people in the inner-sanctum and they have told me that without a doubt Lote will be in TIgers colours next season, done deal!!

Apparently the issue with the NRL registering a contract whilst he has a current one and also that Tim Sheens isn't in town to unveil the deal are the main factors stopping them from announcing his signing.

Did they happen to mention when.....March or May?

Long live the quest for Lortay......starting to wish Sheens never made his 1 marquee player a year comment......
 
Did anyone tell you anything about Lima, has he signed with us already?

Did he actually say that Geo? I can never remember him using those words but they seem to be thrown around a lot on here so maybe he did. But i remember him saying the club will look to sign a player of rep standard every year…...thats a HUGE difference to "marquee". When u consider some of the players which have played City/Country....its not too hard to achieve and with the signing Cayless, it already has been achieved. Also, that line is open to interpretation......he didnt say "a rep player" he said "rep player standard", so in fact anyone who he believes could be a rep player falls under that category. So the club could actually claim 3 or 4 guys have been signed under this banner for 2010.......Brown would handle city, Taumata and Moors certainly have the talent to play for the Kiwi's and Cayless is a rep player.

He did mate…... remember Rugby League Summertime 09 on Fox .....think it's still in the IQ....In relation to recruitment and retention and the signing of Ellis....He said......'Wests Tigers have built on juniors in the past and from promotion from within' 'With the signing of Ellis the club has taken a new direction and _AIM_ to sign 1 Marquee player a Year' or word to that effect.........
 
When Lote runs out in a WT Jersey in 2010 I will then become interested.

If Kul says that Lote will be at the Wests Tigers in 2010, then take it as a done deal :slight_smile:

We dont need this bloke, waste of time, save the money for contract extensions and imput in to the junior players! We have the backs to cover and i want to see Tupou on the wings along with Tuiaki at the back, and maybe throw Mullaney at FB or perhaps ryan!

Tupou wont be playing on the wings or in the back line. With his previous medical history i think you will find him used as a 2nd rower.. i could be wrong but our backs are full and plenty of other depth.. Hence Lote will be moved to Fullback and Moltzen to Half
No use upgrading contracts when we obviously need more then current depth.. isnt it this forum who week in week out has a dig at recruitment cause we are not signing anybody.
