Lovett Gone

He wouldn't have played first grade next year anyway. Watch him get snapped up the the Knights.

More likely the Gulargambone Jets - if they are feeling benevolent - then again they might want to win their comp.

The hate is funny..Lovett was no world beater sure but he put in every time he took the field and left everything out there..We have had a lot worse pull on our jersey …Hello Bwaith...we are a weird mob..

At this stage he has no offers but I'm sure an ISP team will pick him up..Good Luck in the future..

Had the heart and guts to play. Just didn't have the size… if he had the size he would of been an average first grader

Very maligned player.

I can't deny his effort, he always had a go on the field he just couldn't quite get to the next level.

All the best to him, hope he stays out of trouble.

They played a farewell video to all the players leaving. Obviously Tedesco woods and Ava were there but they also showed Lovett, Littlejohn and Idris.

You can add Edwards to that group, he's gone too.

I agree, lots eager to put the boot in.

When you have a talented player who fails to deliver and leaves on bad terms - stuff them, I get the vitriol.

When you have an untalented player who tries hard but just doesn't have what it takes, well good luck to him.

Forever remembered for the day when JT used him as a stop gap centre despite keeping Lawrence (who played centre for Australia) in the 2nd row - hilarity ensued.

I agree Geo. Was never a world beater but tried hard with the ability he had.
My lingering memory of him will be the day at Leichhardt that he was moved to the centres when someone got injured. That was the day Whare (sp?) ran rings around him and we lost on the back of it. He got left at halfway once and he dropped his head and smashed the ground with his fist. I genuinely felt sorry for the bloke - he was busting his balls but was like a lamb to the slaughter.
I don't think you could ever accuse him of not having a go - he just lacked that bit of class to be a regular first grader. JT playing him in the centres did him no favours.

For all his faults and little ability he played first grade on many occasions i doubt if many of us supporters did.I wish him well just not with us

Exactly. It's an achievement in itself to even make the NRL

Really can't understand the hatred for this guy. So he wasn't an elite player. That said, he always had a dig unlike that other muppet who jumped ship earlier in the season after sulking his way out the door. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up.

Its tough getting to NRL level, its tough playing NRl ,its tough not being quite at NRL level but you work your butt off to do your best…..Its tougher being criticised by people who haven't even the ability to make NRL level...it doesn't matter how much people disliked Lovett, they should remember he was in our squad and wore our colours....I thank him for his efforts and wish him the best in future endeavour's.... He has made mistakes and has hurt himself, many have done the same and haven't copped what Lovett has for his misdemenours ...

My number one memory of Lovett was at a fan day, where he brushed my son to flirt with a couple of young lady fans. Can't blame him though…

I agree He never struck me as a guy who wasnt trying. He also had some good games for us plugging holes up the guts. Doesnt deserve the send off he is copping. He didnt keep picking himself.

You found that funny?
The bloke was embarrassed beyond words, the team soundly beaten because of the positional change and he has been vilified on here ever since. He was not useless, merely adequate.

Agree with the posters that have a put a more positive slant on Lovett's time at the Tigers. The guy did try his best and he should be congratulated for playing as many NRL games as he has. There have been many who have pulled on our colours who have played worse than him. I wish him well into the future. Thanks Kyle for all your efforts!!

Not without the Benny Hill music…

Anyone who runs out on the field at NRL level needs plenty of ticker and Lovett sort of became the forum voodoo doll. Last year when we were on our mid season charge he went okay.

The players do not pick the team so if a player gets picked and is not up to standard its not his fault. I say thanks Lovett for your efforts and I hope you can get a gig in ESL where you might go okay
