Lovett improving?

Yeah he was shaping up a Knights player yesterday too.
Ref had to give him a speaking too

Maybe he's becoming more aggressive too?

He is definitely improving however I think he showed that he can really fit in if he plays up the middle. At best at this point though he is a bench player.

I think it's obvious to all that he will never be a star, so what he can improve is his consistency, workload and aggression. Which he has done.

Giving a place to a youngster is always a gamble. You're backing them to improve, and we've seen a few recently that haven't. Given Lovett's attitude, I think he will get better.

I have thrown daggers at him for being average only, for his shocking efforts in the Centres BUT he is the ONLY player who is continually pushing up in support.

Like many have said here, his effort cant be questioned.

Respect and credit where its due and I must say he is improving
I'm for one surely warming up to the Lovechild

I am not sure if he will actually make it to the next level, but making that next step doesn't happen over knight. All the really good backrowers took a few years of NRL to make that next step. He has improved,he is getting bigger, but he may lack a little speed to be a real damaging edge runner. Anyway you have to ask who on our books in the lower grades is better at present

Lovett gets a bad rap on here because of the few clangers he has had like the Penrith game….

No superstar sure ...he gives his all every game ..never gives up or goes missing...He is often the first forward back to take the dirty hit up coming out of our end..His improvement this year has been his metres in attack after contact and getting a quicker play the ball...

Unless you're the Broncos Coyboys Roosters or Dogs chocked full of Rep back rowers you need guys like Lovett who bust their butts forthe team...

It's not his fault that he sometimes finds himself in the centres, it's just circumstances. I've been a fan of his style of play all year and yesterday you could see the difference he made to the defence when he came on. I believe he will be a regular first grader for some years to come and who knows what level he may get to. He was outstanding in the City side but in the meantime he perfectly fits JT's mantra of playing tough.

I have knocked him in the past and I will stand by what I say and even imo jumped the pecking order a bit, I can't knock his effort and attitude.

Yes I agree with the sentiments on here about him. When he is used properly he contributes. He competes all game and is one of the few who seem to be improving.

People give him and Ranko a hard time on here but for mine they are blokes who give their all and are mostly used incorrectly by their coach. When they get the chance to show their wares they prove they have something.

yeah I think so, he appears to be hitting the line harder, there's a bit more agro about him. Don't think he'll be a star, but certainly one of those necessary solid players in the squad.

I think he can be a star as he is hungry and keen to learn.
Not all stars were born footballers. Most of them got there through determination and hard yakka. From all reports, this bloke has that.

thought ranko was damn good at fullback

1 line break, 2 linebreak assists, 1 try assist.

okay he's no tedesco - but who is aside from rep players?? i think he's solid and he offers some okay kicking (best we can offer anyway)
