Lui and Ellis Fitness Tests Tomorrow

Heard that Lui has a real problem with his knee and may need corrective surgery!

Where did you hear that from?!

I think Gentle or someone was quoted at saying that his knee is blowing up after the training sessions, but it's getting progressively better.

The 'success' of a Lawrence-Benji halves pairing can be attributed more to the fact that Robbie has found some form and is again one of the dominant playmakers. While the Lawrence/Benji halves combination is hardly firing, it might be necessary to continue with a combination that works (whether it's 'working' or not is another issue), especially as we head to the finals, and especially if our first/second choice half whose fitness is questionable.

I'm not worried about tonight. While I would prefer to have Lui there, I feel confident with Benji and Rowdy in the halves considering they have been that way now for a few weeks.

I'm not worried about the Cowboys. The Tigers never loose at Leichhardt, teams need to beat us there, and the Cowboys arent up to it. Whether we win by 2, or by 32, a win tonight secures us in the Top 8 @ 26 points…

Go the TIGERS!!!

Ive heard the exact opposite, that his knee is OK and its a non injury related reason why he wont play tonight.

The Tigers never loose at Liechardt well I must say many would differ!

Not sure of the exact stats but the tigers have won only two of their last six at Leichhardt or numbers very similar. IMO the halves are not working at all and we have had more than our fair share of luck in recent weeks and of course farah finding some real form. When Lui was first injured Sheens should have picked Lazarus,Waters or nichols and persevered with player but that didnt happen and now we have real problems

Lui should be back. I am very critical of the rehab department at Wests. Lui injured his knee against Canberra at Leichhardt some 4 weeks ago now. He in fact, finished the game, playing the entire 80mins. I'm not questioning his pain threshold of the bloke, but it seems that they are a little tentative and have rapped him in cotton wool a little. you can bet your bottom dollar if it was Marshall or Farah, they would have been looking to play the following week. Infact, Farah did with a busted shin. Wests are in need of a 7 and trying the manufacture and makeshift a halves pairing at this pivotal stage of the season is ridiculous. If Lui is 100% and plays NYC this evening, then Sheens has a lot to answer for. You want your halves firing coming into the finals. That cohesion, formula and understanding between your 1,6,7,9 is crucial. The Tigers attack has been far from impressive and this is the sole reason why. Unlike other teams in the 8, Wests are still fiddling with their halves. An experienced Coach like Sheens should know better. For his sake, i hope it doesn't comeback to bite him on the behind

I think we have won 5 in our last 7 at Leichhardt. I think Warrior got us in 08, Panthers last year, but on both occasions we didn't loose, we were beaten by a better team performance…

Im not fused with Benji at 7\. For it to work though, he must have a dominant forward park, going forward all game. Without our forwards getting over the advantage line, he looks like the worst 7 in the comp...

Half full, half empty, should of, could of, one thing is certain, we won't loose this game tonight if Marshall plays at 7!!!

There's a BIG difference between 'Losing' and being 'Beaten' in a game of Rugby League brother???!!!

The Fonz wants Marshall at 7, Lawrence at 6 for the rest of the 2010 campaign. He is just too gutless to name them in those positions.

Didn't he make that statement 2 weeks ago in a cryptic message through a press conference??

It's a better defensive combination. We're winning games based on defense. It's not without it's benefits. If he can get them to click in attack then it's a good idea. This is a good game to give them one more go together in because there's every chance they will.
