Lui

Well from that article Willow, it looks like the Wests Tigers are giving Lui the rest of the season to form a partnership with Benji in the halves. I am sure Sheens wanted to debut Lui at the start of next season after a hard working pre season, but has decided on this risky play…...I hope it comes off.

I have mixed feeling on quotes like...

"I don't want too much pressure on the kid, but he's got a lot of class," assistant coach Royce Simmons said.

"I don't think he'll play too much lower grade football after this week. That's a pretty big wrap to give a player.

Hmmm..I agree….

If he is there to stay hope he's had a crash course in battle hardened First Grade Defence....Parra ,ScumDogs and Titans know how to exploit a spot defender....Prince will be druelling at the prospect.....Anyhow week at a time

Good luck Robert ....remember...body on the line stuff kid.....Defense = Attitude and heart...

I think it makes perfect sense. It now gives us 4 crafty ball players across the park Farah, Marshall, Lui and also Moltzen who now has the free range and the attacking potency to inject himself into the game from fullback which will just add an extra dimension to the tigers side that we are yet to see this year. He is obviously a good player and full of confidence. TBH I dont think we are weakening one position to strengthen another as Lui is a natural half, Moltzen is a ball playing fullback, and sheens might just of got this one right.

I'm having visions of Moe Jnr (Moltzen) busting the line the way Moe Hodgo Snr did (tear quickly wiped from eye). I cant wait to see the 4 out there. Like the former Great Big Kev would say … "I'm excited!"

Just fyi - damn I miss that In Hodge We Trust sign ....gold!

i really hope this kid can hold up the ball so mighty ellis can bust through a hole and score his 1st try!
Unfortunately marshall/moltz/farah hardly use this.

how did he go? From the radio it sounded like he started out on fire and was then a bit quite.

How many minutes did he get?

80 minutes from what I can tell.

The only really flaw I saw was his defensive positional play and that's cos he rushed up out of the line once.

He handled himself well today, Gallen ran at him all game and he kept holding his own in defence.

With our field plays he looked like he had been playing in our backline for a few seasons, set up a try and had his hands in 1 or 2 others.

In saying that I wouldn't be looking to much into todays game with him playing against a side that some NYC teams would of beaten, next week will be a very good test for the kid.

Played the whole game I think, was very good, didnt try to overplay his hand, warmed to the task, he seemed to grow in confidence as the game wore on - a keeper I think, a ball playing lock in the making

Played pretty good, nothing brilliant, nothing bad. i know his defence was questioned, but for someone out of the NYC was quite good as said before with Gallen charging at him all day.

Dropped a ball, missed a tackle.. Didnt let anything get to him.
Should grow into a really good player.

Did nothing today but be a passenger. Got stagefright. Speedbump in defence. kicks went backwards. Can only get better from here.

Mate, dead set that is the dumbest post I've ever read on here…did you even watch the game???????

His passing was excellent and he found Benji at speed / on the chest several times.

He put in one kick for a try.

He had a KANGAROO forward running at him all day and hardly missed him once.

It was a nice, very solid debut in a game where there were already two brilliant ballplayers dominating.

Geez, I am convinced some of you don't even watch the games or know SFA about footy. :smiling_imp:

Speedbump is harsh especially when no one ran over him.

He was found out early with the speedof the game trying to get to the ball runner in a grabbing sort of taclkles several times.

His second half display shows that he is certainly a "Keeper" he was better in defence (more shoulder) and he started to get up to pace with the attack.

The guys have confidence in him so lets show him some respect.

Well done in my books 7/10

Better to come….......... :sunglasses:

Yet another post which shows how clueless your assessment of the game is at times CT.
