Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

Brooks best game in awhile
Agree. And yet his best game still comprises of missed tackles that lead to tries, a few very poor kicks, no venom on his kicks at all, numerous hospital passes that even lead to tries and generally taking bad options while leaving others to make the big plays.
This is the best we can expect to get from him. Which is hopefully a few good plays, but for by far the most part it’s the bottom of the barrel crap.
He is our biggest liability bar none.

I look forward to your critique on the other Halves game....
I'll need to take the day off though yeah?

Brooks best half at the club
- Bar none..

He was close to if not our best player in the first half. He had some good moments in the second half.

His dumb plays at critical times are real bad though.

I was worried about Laurie just as much if not more than Brooks but he played a blinder today.

There is actually plenty to like about the team.

I like Hastings at 13 and I've thought it was a stupid idea for ages.
Looks like Laurie responding to the Staines talk. Finally having a decent go.

I doubt it's that. He was so good out there though.

He was in everything. He made some great passes and some great runs and he went all game.

He was our best player by far and then Brooks.

Lol you’d suck the fun out of a kids 1st birthday party

Threw a slightly mistimed pass that unluckily bounced straight into the hands of the opposition with no fullback there to tackle him. Basically, just bad luck, especially as Luke is the WT player normally chasing down suck breaks.

Still shaded Laurie for best on ground.

He played with a lot more confidence … got more touches on the ball and we looked better for it. Totally different to last week where he was barely sighted

He needs to back it up though

No mention of the Shitty line and position of the back rower...

How many times you hear them say "Should always be in a position to receive the ball"

Or
"Any man running a decoy has to assume he's getting the ball"

You hear it lots - The answer is lots.

I agree. He needs to play like that week in and week out. His cardio today was amazing. He was in everything. The way he ran off Doueihi for the game winner and then made the right pass was awesome.

I've been real critical in my eyes of him this season but maybe he can do the job in such a critical position for us.

I actually thought he was trying to hit Laurie out the back

Either Kelma mistimed his run badly or brooks got spooked and pulled the trigger when he should have held it

Interested in your critique of AD’s game, how do you think he went?

Maybe, thing is, the short ball to the backrower is the play that opens the latter opportunity to create the space to go wide on other plays and vice versa.

Ironically, had he had thrown the harder pass that is often criticised for, it might have stuck in the bread basket like earlier in the match, with our backrower again through the line, but not go be.
