Luke Brooks - Mega Thread

And I forgot to add that then when they go to sign another star player it turns out they have heaps of space in the cap because the departing player was actually on a huge contract and now that they're gone they can buy twice as many star players. Incredible system they have, glad the laser eyes of the media have managed all of a puff piece on Nick politis.

The media need to buy expensive cars as well

I would like to see Brooks tried at hooker when Doueihi gets back. Surely it's worth a go at some point. We're coming last anyway.
Well, when Madge put AD into the centres through necessity we did pretty good. Journos said it was a masterstroke.
I think if if lids goes down and AD and JH are doing alright Brooks might be given the go.
½ backs often skip in dummy half and go for a quick dash.
He's fit enough, good defender and passes well.
Put it this way, if he went to hooker, I doubt it that he would be shite.

We’ve been calling for him to be tried at nine since Farah finished. Not gonna happen one suspects.
As for the “master stroke” of moving AD to the centres….the master stroke was moving him out of 5/8. The team played better with a Brooks/Mbye combo.

I've got nothing 🤣

I don’t see how you build momentum by positional changes? To build is to improve not necessarily change.
Find form, for want of a better term. Hence why the word find was used before build.

Shifting roles could be the kicking duties as a start. Anything to help with his confidence or self belief, as he's sound with his technical application - with some elements - when he's more collected and has someone else to feed off or work with.
He's alright with cross field kicking but could hone his short kicking game - he had consistency with it previously.

To build, above all else, is to find some measure of consistency… we haven’t been consistent for 11 years!

Kind of like finding the right woman and going steady - it’s all we’ve been searching for and yet I remember people using this exact analogy almost half a decade ago. No big 4, no real good coaching aside from Cleary (whether you like it or not), and an absolute who’s who of wasted cap $.

On the glass half full side, Brooks is loyal?

Brooksy has only known his one role his whole career. I don’t know if he has sometimes played low on confidence, but he often appears to have lost his ability to adapt to change? While the change around him has been constant. His short kicking was once a highlight.
I can’t see how changing his position will be anything but confirmation that his role as 7 is a failure.
His form is quite good in reality. This is supported by many saying “he tries hard.”
The last couple of seasons have been tough on Tigers fans because we haven’t had someone in the team who can ice a game when the moment arrives. I don’t see anyone else copping criticism for not winning a game.
Why? Is it because they are all either too inexperienced or lacking the skill of their opposition?

I heard, I think it was Billy Slater say recently, that he doesn’t like to use the word build or rebuild. However, if we’re not building constantly, then what are we doing? We’ve been failing for a decade because we’re not building. Rather doing something that often appears like building..”changing”

So we just need to tell Brooks to play like Turbo then

Surely it is fair to say that Brooks is a decent first grade half but he is not a match winner. He will never take a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate it. Unfortunately for him this club needs him to play the latter role.

Without issue?
3 Times in the last 7 Seasons in the game...
surrounded by rep players??

There's adding a bit of GST to a yarn and ADDING GST!!
