independent judges said he was halfback of the year in 2018 you can't magically take that away from him as much as his detractors try to

Brooks has ... not played a finals game yet.

Brooks kicked a field goal against Souths a few months back. Big whoop. He's got nothing. His supporters will see him do one thing a month that 90% of halves in the league can do and harp on about it forever.

He's just not anywhere near a good player. There's nothing special about him. There's not one thing he does at even a league average level apart from maybe his one on one tackling, which while a nice bonus, doesn't mean much at all when you can't do anything in attack as a half.

In the two games Brooks was out, we've scored 32 and 36 points and won both games. We haven't Broken 30 in the 17 games win him and have a 2-15 record.

Says all you need to know. That and the fact that the people who support Brooks can never seem to pinpoint what he actually does well.

Hastings controls the game well and is a ferocious competitor, Doueihi has a great running game, Madden reads the game well and has great feel on his passing game and short kicking game. Brooks has what???

This. Brooks fanboys are now trying to tear down Reynolds to draw a comparison. Reynolds kicking game alone makes him a far better HB than Brooks and I would’ve happily paid what Brisbane paid to get him here. That’s not even getting into the fact that he makes finals and has won a premiership.

Brooks supporters are Brooks fans first, and Tigers fans second. Their desperate attempts to defend him (muh field goal, muh dally m 4 years ago) reeks of Stockholm Syndrome.

Like you said, they can’t name a single thing he does well and is the third best half in the team at best.

He’s not entirely responsible for the last 9 years but he sure as hell has played a big hand in it.

I talk to a lot of rugby league fans who support other teams and they can't believe it....

Like unheard of, a halfback playing 9 years and never making a single finals appearance.

Even guys like Kris Keating and Brodie Croft played in finals...

I truly believe no other club would back some one so blindly for so long with no result in return.

OHHH but Sheens & John's rate him and they know HEAPS more about footy than us regular folk.... oh ok 🤣

I'm confident the only people that think he's part of the future are relatives or friends of relatives.

He's done. I hope he's smart enough to ask for a release to get a fresh start progress his career, but I suspect he's protecting his $1M contract because he'll be lucky to get half that in 2024.
