Really interesting when Brooks cracks 100m we have a very high win rate, and it goes back to 2105\. However they don't say how many times he's run for 100m in 2014-2017, it might have only been a few times compared to 6 for this season.

I think it might only be 13 in total looking at the graph in the article which means almost have this year. His running game has come on big time this year and he appears more willing to die with the ball in his hands and take the tackle which is a great side in his development.

Those bagging liddle now are probably the exact same blokes who were laying into brooks pre 2018\. Gotta realise it’s a big step up from underage competitions champions to Consistent performers in the nrl. It takes time, particularly if you haven’t got much support.

Exactly.

Always rely on you LC for a bit of common sense.

Also - he is not going to learn anything in ISP.

He hasn’t been the same since he hurt his sternum….I think his body language reflected the fact he couldn’t deal with it....,it’s very painful apparently. He just needs a full off season and a bit more development.

No stats for kicks the got repeat sets. that has improved markedly!

Luke has fluked his way to lead the entire NRL in forced dropouts..

I remember when the lynch mob were out chasing him. He backed himself to do well and proven to himself he is an NRL player. Well done,

You keep on saying this Geo. Who are you referencing?

you can visit some live game threads for your answer but in particular bigsiro who believes the kicking should be taken off Brooks as well as passing and running…others generally appear after a loss not so much when we win...

Brooks copped heaps from people who didn’t understand…..maybe look at the comments after we signed him and lost the other 3.....,many of those are conspicuous by there absence on the forum now we are doing well

I I wasn't a fan of his performances before this year either but hes improved quite a lot.

He deserved criticism in the past…. He wasnt cutting it

This place is full of "I told you so's"... Really tiresome

I am referring to this season..

I also believe a lot of the past criticism of the the kid was often ott as he was never as bad as what was being made out…most halves need a platform to shine very few in the game can do it by themselves...

It would be beneficial for league specialist to interview Luke and Ivan and sound out how and why Luke was able to turn around his game. It would benefit other up and coming players going through the same trough. Some of it must have been psychological. Also interview Mitch Moses for his slant on it and on his own game's up and downs.

Isn't that the skill clubs pay coaches big money for. Why would Ivan give up his intellectual property and devalue his brand.

Should serve as a warning to those who too quickly write off young players with little understanding of what they are dealing with. Same thing is happening with liddle.

People getting stuck into him before this year was "Really tiresome" as well.

If he had failed - these guys wouldn't have been "I told you so's" would they?

How many times have I said about Brooks's running game

Run Luke Run , See Luke run ,See WT's win

Brooks' pace makes him a constant threat to opposing teams. His short and long kicking games and defence round out his repertoire of skills. Nice skillset under a good coach should see him develop further.

He needs to have faith in his running game , it is almost as good as Ponga's , throw in a change of pace and he can be a killer against opposition back rowers and tiring middle players

I still don't think he realizes how crucial it is to his and our future chances

Bring a bloke like Mbye in with his pace and footwork , turning him inside off Brooks could really scare opposition defences as well and will create more chances for Marsters and our other 2019 centre (Guessing Kelly )

Throw another back rower with size and speed into this side and we might have the makings of a premiership side if the defence continues to improve with it's initial contact in tackles and not burn our forwards out

They were being accurate… Nothing tiresome about that... You can stick your head in the sand if you like, some call a spade a spade
If those people were saying "he'd never amount to anything blah blah" then yeh, they'd be wrong.
If they were calling it as they saw it in the 'then &
there' then I've no problem with that.

I'm glad he's going well but the pissing contests here are childish russell

I've always felt that he did most parts of the game pretty well in the last couple of years. Always had a good running game, could put a man through the gap, defended well. Up until this year he struggled with 5th tackle options and short kicking game. Unfortunately these two areas are crucial for a good half.

He is drastically improving in these areas, and getting better in areas he was already good in.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out his shortcomings. Obviously those saying he was all round hopeless weren't entirely correct, but there were plenty of measured comments on his game as well which I feel were reasonably justified.

We all want our players to do well. There was significant frustration with Brooks because how long it has taken him to come on, there's probably a myriad of reasons as to why, but Wests fans are sick of being patient for good reason.

I am going to continue to enjoy his purple patch and hope he continues to improve.
