Luke Brooks

I would be very surprised if negotiations aren't well underway.
The management won't let Brooksy slip through their fingers.

If not the best performed half this season, Luke was equal to any other over the twenty five rounds, yet still not enough for some people. Wanting more is one thing, expecting it is another altogether and putting the guy down based on 2018 is ridiculous.

You've described my feelings on Luke this year. Only if all players performed to his standard we would be in the 8\. He deserves a healthy increase and extension because he backed himself and didn't high tail it out of town like the other three.

I assume it's on the table but we just don't know about it.
Many people were calling for masters to be extended and later for garner to be upgraded and people were sounding impatient on here then it was announced without any whispers sneaking out if I remember correctly.

As soon as this never ending coaching saga is done.

You maybe right, Brooks might be waiting on a decision on the coach

Thought has crossed my mind. Who knows he could be over all the stuff that's happened here and jump ship like the other 3 did. Hopefully that's not the case though.

To me, Brooks seems like a guy who seeks comfort in familiar surroundings. I would be very surprised if he moved on. I may have missed something but when the mess last year with the 3 amigos leaving occurred, he signed on very quickly at a reduced rate (in my mind).

I would say he wants a healthy top up but he is a Tiger. Won't go.

I’m sure come Nov 1 Brooks will be offered contracts by rival clubs. If he was convinced Tigers are the best option I’m sure he’d have signed an extension. We lost 3 players last time we imploded but Brooks stuck solid (maybe he had no option). I just wonder whether the phrase “enough is enough” has crossed his mind? I wonder whether he’s thinking “this club just moves from one drama to the next.”
Losing Brooks would be a disaster. He will push for SOO selection next year. Other clubs will want him.
By hey, the Cleary circus won’t effect retention and recruitment right? Let’s see.

I reckon he will re-sign with WT as long as it's a fair offer. Let's just hope Reynolds can stay on the field in 2019 to form an effective halves partnership with Brooks sniffing around for opportunities to run and Reynolds doing the plotting and organising off the team along with huge doses of passion to rev up the team.

That's right, you couldn't.
Let's just hope that's not Cleary's legacy, and he'd better do the hard yards to ensure it is not.

I agree with those who think that he still erratic when he gets close to the line , and has very little idea of game management, and I still hope that he will improve enough to Change minds of those of us who still have doubts about him.
But unless there is a big improvement in those areas, I’d be really worried if there was even whispers of him being in the SOO team
One day he might be ready for that, but not now,
As for half of the year, I disagree with the Bradbury Reference, but you have to abmit that there was not very many real candidates to bother about.

Can’t wait to see Reynolds plotting and organising, that should be good…....

Value just went up. Dally M halfback of the year. Congrats Brooksy, well deserved. Now put him on a 3 year deal.
