Our attack was horrendous under Ivan Cleary. We could only score off kicks. Most boring football I've ever seen.

People taking aim at Luke Brooks - for what? He did his job. Set up tries, got the team around the park in attack, didn't miss any tackles.

Why not look at our middle forwards, who for the 200th consecutive game were run through like a sieve? How about the shocking defence on the other side (Roberts & Nofoaluma) letting in soft tries?

I don't disagree. For every good thing he did today, he follows it up with a dud play.

He should have been able to bring home the bacon against a garbage team like the cowboys. We should ask Reynolds how long he wants to play for and tell him to name his price. As a contingency we should decide when 2021 is dead (probably now given we have the rabbitohs next week) and start blooding Madden.

Ha yes! I often think of the parallels.
In hindsight the super strange love affair for Fitzhenry pales compared to this. The FWO was kinda funny, kinda endearing even.

I have come to a conclusion about Brooks' weird hold on some fans, that is:

The only people that support Brooks now have Stockholm syndrome - being stuck with him for so long they have had to develop this psychological response to the trauma which has made them bond with him irrevocably.

I simply cannot fathom how anyone can support him playing 7 for our team anymore.

No we don’t have to take that risk. It would only be from 2022 onwards. I’d be looking at our NSW cup team for longer term solutions. It’s time to blood some of these in 2021 to get them ready for 2022.

This is the issue. Brooks isn't that player. He isn't a top tier half or a top tier player. He is an average half.

He isn't the guy to bring home the bacon. We need the team to do that.

You guys are all looking towards the wrong player. The team have to learn to defend. Douiehi is the guy who we should be looking for.

I like Douiehi. We have to look to pick up good young halves coming through the grades. It's the same idea as buying Stef U and buying Tamou. We get a lot better value out of Stef U.
